Point Break è il progetto musicale fortemente voluto da 3 amici di lunghissima .. Alessio TREVOR Nicolini, Andrea Piga e Tommaso Nicolini. Questi, dopo aver percorso strade in progetti artistici differenti, si ritrovano assieme all’inizio degl’anni 90 nella band Fuggiaschj, un gruppo giovanissimo nato con il solo intento di divertirsi come tutti gl’adolescenti amano fare. Durante quest’esperienza vengono sviluppate idee nuove che portano ad avere una convinzione sempre più profonda nei proprio mezzi tanto d’abbandonare quasi totalmente l’esibizione di cover nei loro concerti. E’ in questa fase, a cavallo tra il 2006 ed il 2007, che vengono gettate le basi artistiche per quello che prenderà il nome di Point Break.
Il termine Point Break viene dalla cultura surf, e più precisamente dal karma che incarna questo sport, o meglio, questa filosofia di vita. Tecnicamente il Point Break è il punto in cui l’onda si rompe e si creano le condizioni per surfare nel senso vero e proprio del termine. In quel punto i surfisti si alzano in piedi, trovano la luce, si staccano dalla realtà e vanno in simbiosi con la natura. Si passa dall'Inferno al Paradiso, è il limite, il punto in cui la calma si fa da parte ed arriva la tempesta... In realtà è qualcosa di più, ed è questo che ci ha convinto ad assumerlo come etichetta per il nostro gruppo. Quel punto rappresenta il passaggio da una situazione d’attesa di un momento in cui si scatena la natura, e l’uomo in acqua è costretto, per piacere o per necessità , a reagire.
Ci si abbandona col corpo e si raccoglie il proprio spirito.
Il progetto affonda le radici in un’accurata miscela di generi alternativi rock sia del passato che moderni con testi che mirano a stimolare prevalentemente le fantasie dell’ascoltatore.
Nel corso del 2007 e 2008 si colgono tutte le possibilità per proporre la propria musica scoprendo un ottimo riscontro da parte del pubblico della scena locale e non solo, che apprezza in particolar modo la ricerca di suoni nuovi e la sfida di testi rigorosamente in italiano.
La ferma volontà di portare all’esterno ciò che si sviluppa in studio viene premiata con la possibilità di calcare grandi palcoscenici come gruppo spalla a band del calibro di Le Vibrazioni.
Point Break is a music project of 3 old friends: Alessio TREVOR Nicolini, Andrea Piga and Tommaso Nicolini. After gone different artistic careers, at the beginning of 90’s they formed Fuggiaschj Band, whose main aim was to have fun like all teenagers do.
Trough that experience they developed many ideas which convinced the 3 guys to avoid playing covers during their performances. Right between 2006 and 2007 the main artistic roots were placed giving birth to “Point Breakâ€.
The name Point Break comes from surfing culture, more precisely from the karma that embodies this sport, better defined as a life philosophy. Technically, the Point Break is the wave which breaks onto a rocky or sandy point and it’s time to start surfing. At that very point surfers stand up, find out the light and get detached from reality going in symbiosis with nature. It switches from hell in to paradise, it is the limit point where the calm reigns by and the storm arrives... There is also much more than this, that’s why the 3 guys decided to use this term as the name of their project.
This point represents the passage from a standby situation to the moment where nature explodes, and surfers must react, for need or simply for pleasure. They abandon themselves while collecting the spirit.
This project lies its roots in a variety of different rock genres of the past and the present, with lyrics that stimulate the imagination of their listeners. During 2007 and 2008 they caught many possibilities to let their music comes out, getting great feedback from local audience and not only. The same audience appreciates the research of new sounds accepting the challenge of lyrics which picture images.
The determination to bring the hard work outside of a studio has been rewarded with the possibility of playing on big stages together with famous bands like “Le Vibrazioniâ€.
