Colton O'Neill

Texas Blues From the Soul

About Me

If you love the blues, you’ll love the Colton O’Neill Band. The band plays with that energy that can only come from the heart and soul of the best musicians. Minutes after they take the stage, if you are not up and dancing, your soul will be singing, and your feet tapping! Sixteen year old Colton O’Neill leads the three piece band with a love for music that really comes through his guitar and touches the audience the way that all great musicians do. His intense, animated style of playing is truly his own, but it is the same intensity that we used to see in Stevie Ray Vaughan. There is no way to learn it, or fake it. This is the REAL DEAL. This music is straight from the soul. Tanner Cash, who is seventeen years old, lays down a solid bass line for Colton’s lead guitar to weave around. He has been with Colton since the band formed. George Johnson Jr., drummer, is the newcomer to the group, but not a newcomer to the blues, and, " He is rock solid." The band plays Blues, Funk and Rock, but mostly traditional blues. They are working on original material, and will have a CD out soon. Now is the perfect time to see this up-and-coming talent, up close and personal. Colton’s description of his sound is, "A mix between Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, and Eric Clapton, with my own licks of course." "We live the music we play. We are not just weekend players. We play everyday of the week. We love what we do." Born in Sulpher Springs. Colton currently lives in the little town of Lone Oak, Texas, Close to Greenville, Texas. Colton picked up the guitar when he was six years old, but "I lost intrest fast." He did not pick it back up till he was thirteen. " I heard Stevie Ray Vaughan on one of my dad’s CD’s and knew right then that there were nothing else for me to do." His dad is a country guitar player and taught him his basics and chords. From there, Colton wanted to play the blues. His dad handed him a Stevie Ray Vaughan CD and told him to learn every note and lick. So he did. When asked who insprired him to become a musician, Colton responded, " Tyler Dow Bryant, Albert King, Freddie King, Albert Collins, Mike O’Neill, Robin Trower, Wes Jeans, Lance Lopez, Alan Haynes, but there are way to many to name." If you haven’t heard this band you are truly missing out on an experience of a lifetime. Be sure to check Colton’s bookings to find him near you. You don’t want to miss him. For booking info.
