About Me

I have been in the musical instrument business for over 10 years assisting in building and distributing fine quality musical instruments worldwide. I got my start in the musical instrument industry working at Pearl Drums in Nashville, Tennessee. I moved to Newfoundland in April 2000 and soon after began my work in the luthier arts at Garrison Guitars gaining valuable skills and experience building quality acoustic guitars. I also worked for a company called Campbell Flat Tops, specializing in ukulele's, bouzoukis, and the mandolin family of instruments. I moved to Springdale, Newfoundland in August of 2006 and decided to start up my own business called Olde Woods Lutherie. I specialize in mandolins, mandolas, bouzukis, and smaller acoustic guitars. I also offer my shop as a lutherie outsourcing subcontractor for other instrument companies as well. All of my instruments are hand made from the finest materials available on the market. I use a variety of hardwoods such as east indian rosewood, sapelle, maple, mahogany, ash, and newfoundland birch for backs, sides, fretboards and necks. For top tonewoods I generally use a variety of high grade spruce, cedar, and juniper.
