A new millenium, a new Knuckles. Out with the old heavy assault (www.myspace.com/knucklesheavyera) and in with a new gentler, yet no less angsty, sound. For a couple of years David Ledden wrote with greater sensitivity to melody, while Andy Warren arranged the songs, introducing vocal harmonies and a subtler performance. The band augmented their sound with Olena Baker on accordion, and one-time Fatima Mansions drummer, Paul Murphy.Knuckles performed countless shows promoting their self-produced Anti-Loud EP through 2002 and 2003, playing some fantastic venues such as the Colchester Arts Centre, and meeting great artists like Alan Tyler, with whom Knuckles shared a bill at the Way Beyond Nashville Festival held at the Spitz bar, in Shoreditch. Their final concert was performed at the Crawley Folk Festival.Andy Warren is currently engineering and producing in his north-London studio, Wood, Wind and Wire.David Ledden is writing a new batch of songs which should see light of day on myspace in the new year.Enjoy the songs.
