Name is GODWON, close friends and imposters alike call me "Goddy" lol I'm a rapper in Houston but born and semi raised in Kaduna State Nigeria. My father was an advisor to a Nigerian President and our family faced assasination during an overthrow in 1991 by rivals of the President, causing us to re-locate to the Americas. I was 9 and the youngest in my family so i went through it the hardest. I have been rapping pretty much as soon as i stepped off the boat, i was young so it was a rain forest rap school assignment that got me started haaa. People are influenced by my ability to stay grounded and humble through adversity. Without my father's support my family and i found it hard to survive at first, i was raised by a strong woman who worked did everything from working at wendy's to taking care of the mentally impaired. I couldn't afford the things i seen other kids have so i began a mindless life of crime that almost got me deported yet helped me evaluate decitions i was making..... many trials and tribulations later i have done my crime, time, grown and matured but never lost my love of life, It brings a smile to my face and i share my story through my music and writing to ultimately bring a smile to others.
