My name is Nikos Koriatopoulos; I'm from Korinthos, Hellas (Greece), my artist name is Q-bik. The type of music that I am involved in and making is progressive tech-house, break beat, experimental, down tempo, trip hop and basically everything that inspires me; my sound is smooth, spacey, powerful, progressive and a guarantee to make people enjoy and dance to the maximum every minute of it.
I started getting seriously involved with electronic music and DJing somewhere in 1993 where I had my own radio show on a local radio station in the city of Korinthos, Hellas (Greece). I managed to develop my DJ skills through that which eventually brought me into the dance music industry and started playing in several local events at first and then nation wide as well as organizing my first music events.
In 1995 I've joined the group called "TOTAL CHAOS" and we managed to release an LP called "COSMOTOPOS" in Greece which was an independent production as well as 2 video clips from that album playing on national TV (Jeronimo Groovy) which went very well for a start.
We've got some really good critics about our music from the "Greek music world" of that time. In the mean time though I was always involved in playing and organising parties/events in several parts of Greece apart from the live acts we were giving with the group.
In 1997 still with "TOTAL CHAOS", we've released a CD-single with the name "COSMOGONY" in a European wide scale which went quite good as well; at that time we were more involved into techno and trance sounds. In November 1998 we got the chance to play our first gig abroad in Berlin, Germany where we took part in a Euro-culture music festival EUROCK ..98 representing Greece.
After that in 1999 I moved to the Netherlands and worked my way around there, I developed my self more into the progressive house and break beat sounds, I became more mature in music and I managed to play in several parties/events together with good names such as Tom Harding, Ernesto and Per within the Netherlands.
I've also got some gigs as a DJ in the cities of Orleans and Paris in France several times in some good events. In 2003 I've joined forces with Matt Balzan and together we created the scheme "GALAKTIKA" and we had a series of gigs in the Netherlands and France.
In September 2004 I decided to return back to my motherland and since then I..m living now in Athens. Since then apart from some gigs I've been having in several places around the country I..m now mostly concentrated in producing music as Q-bik and thanks to Next Dimension Music I have the opportunity to expand my sounds all over the world with my first personal EP "The Corinthian Project" which was released on the 22nd on June 2006.
In October 2006 one of my tracks was included in the compilation ..In Progress.. of the Greek music Magazine "FREEZE" as well as mentioning a reference of my work in the October issue of the Magazine. On the 9th of November 2006 the 2nd EP titled "Lights in Motion" with Next Dimension Music is out.
Within November the track "Ironic Rhapsody" is taking place in a US compilation from Strenamente Music titled Pour I'instant Fantastique My 3rd EP is out since the 29th of March 2007 with the title "ANANEOSIS".
The 4th EP with the title "GROOVE WARS" is out since November 2007 including 7 tracks with various styles from Drum n' Bass to Progressive Techno by Next Dimension Music.
I'm also a member of the independent Film group "NATURAL.CIN" as part of the casting and created the soundtrack of the short film with the title "Pick it Up" which participated in the 8th Panorama Festival of Independent Film & Video that took place in the city of Patras in September of 2006.
