Hmmmm, reading, writing, running, collecting music and music videos, collecting words, collecting quotations, collecting *good* poetry and artwork, surfing the Internet, politics, news, insomnia, procrastination, DVDs, learning HTML, punching and kicking my new athletic equipment, psychology, philosophy (especially of the Eastern variety), drinking, philosophical drinking, achieving self-aggrandizement through self-effacement ;-), playing with picture files occassionally, and other assorted fun.
Not really trying to meet people through this thing. Just got it to keep up with what's going on with my friends.
However, for the random folks whom I've never met that'd like to chat it up with me, here's a suggestion: bring up a topic of conversation. I don't care what it is, though something I have listed as an area of interests would be a great place to start. Politics, music, religion (unless you're trying to convert me to something), a movie that we both list as favorites, a book you want to suggest because (based on my posted list) you think I might like it. Whatever. But just saying "hey, wanna chat sometime? I do NOT cyber" doesn't really give me any indication that we have anything to talk about. So, pick something. No offense, nothing personal, but otherwise ya ain't likely to get a response. K? Great. Glad we have that all clear now.
Furthermore, if 'you' are an ad campaign of any kind, I do NOT want to hear from you. Do not advertise to me. NO MATTER WHAT YOU'RE SELLING, NO MATTER HOW STRONGLY YOU FEEL I WOULD WANT IT, I PROMISE THAT I DON'T WANT IT. DO NOT SOLICIT TO ME ... EVER. IF YOU DO, THEN I WILL MAKE A MENTAL NOTE TO NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM YOUR COMPANY EVER IN THE FUTURE. If I want to buy something, I'll shop for it myself, either online or in a store. I do not want entities pretending friendship so that they can sell me something that I don't want. STOP IT.
