Out da Woodwurks (formerly known as DNA entertainment) consists of two musicians(singer Hazard and rapper M.C. Lion) who met during their Sophomore year of High School when Hazard moved to Hartford CT from Brooklyn NY. formed in early 2001 when they found they had the same passion for music. Asaad "M.C. Lion" Jackson was born and raised in Hartford CT September 1984 . He has always had a big interest in music since he was a child. His father would record song from a local college radio station and play them in the car as Lion would recall. Began playing trumpet at the age of 11 and his interest grew. Playing classical, marching and especially jazz music throughout the years as well as learning other instruments such as steel pan, piano, college band style bass drum and african percussion. At age 15 he was picked to perform live on stage with the legendary rock group Chicago as part of VH1's Save the Music campaign that was launched that year. That same year he expirimented with rap around the same time he met Hazard. Formerly known as Jiggy Flex, a name given to him by cheerleaders, he changed his name to M.C. Lion (Lion is the translation of his Arabic name).De'Andre "Hazard" Everett was born in Jamaica in November of 1982. His parents relocated to Brooklyn when Hazard was 2. His father was a well known DJ so he was also exposed to music at a n early age.Hazard began singing and playing drums in church at 4 and even learning bass guitar on his own.He even once sang at Carnegie Hall for Wynton Marsalis. Heavily influenced by Take 6 Hazard learned to use the full range of his voice. Throughout his youth he was also into sports(former Golden Gloves amatuer boxing champion), acting,dancing(he is a former modern jazz dancer and ballet instructor as well as hip hop dancing and battling) and even modeling. His mother later moved him and his three younger sisters to Hartford when he was 16 and later on settling in Windsor CT five years later. Hazard got his nickname from his days as a hip hop dancer.
