Johnny was born in the small Georgia town of Porterdale in 1946. 1st stage apperance, was at the age of 5 yrs. old. Johnny can remember it like it was yesterday, that is when the Spotlights hooked him. He continued doing school functions, & forming his 1st Band, "THE CHESSMEN" in 1960, doing school dances, for many schools in Metro Atlanta area. Local Atlanta Disc Jockey, Pat Hughs, took a insterest in Johnny & his band, booking them for Personal Appearances on Radio sponcered Dances, & Concert Shows. After High School Johnny continued to work in the entertainment business, & has done so for the last 42 yrs of his like. Johnny was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, & received a Lifetime Achivement Award in 2005, for his dedicated work in Entertainment business. At 60 yrs. old Johnny is still going strong, & right now is busy writing Blues songs, which he is planning to Record & Release sometimes in 2007.
