About Me

Howdy!! My name is Dave and Im a fine artist based near Manchester in the U.K. I work mainly as a painter, graduating from Loughborough University in 2000 (B.A Hons. Fine Art Painting) and completed an MA in 2005 (Art and Design Studio Practice - Loughborough University).I use a number of different mediums (Glass, Resin, Digital Prints, Aluminium etc..) when working on a painting and i'd like to think I produce some pretty odd conclusions. Anyway I just thought this might be a good opportunity to show the folks of this wide old world some of the weird and wonderful ( I hope!!) stuff I get up to. Hope you like.

My Interests

Bit of everything!!! Paradise Lost, New Model Army,Dimmu Borgir, Darkthrone, Tori Amos, Tool, Cathedral, Anathema, Emperor, Rammstein, Marillion,Danzig, Hawkwind, Snow Patrol, Sigur Ros and on and on and on....

Movies:

Too many to mention, but do like old horror/Sci Fi flix especially.

Television:

Ray Mears Programs, I reckon he eats 'Dorito's' off camera though!!

Books:

I was Vermeer, Carter Beats the Devil, Vernon Godlittle, Interview with the Vampire, 1984, Dracula, Girlfriend In a Coma, Northern Lights (Pullman), Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Gullivers Travels.

Heroes:

Maybe Alan Partridge?? I dont really have any I suppose but I like the work of contemporary painters such as Peter Doig, Glenn Brown, Fiona Rae, Ian Davenport and Michael Raedecker, as well as many old masters and other artists that hold a lot of influence over my very odd mind.
