Deeply and enriched by a musical heritage traced to the year 1899 the 248th Army Band from Puerto Rico National Guard has, sience, contributed to foster and promote troop morale and civil/military relations in support of peace - wartime military operations.
Acclaimed as the "Ambassadors of the American and Hispanic Heritage Musical Expression", the 248th Army Band has performed, at home and abroad, with notable appearances before President William McKinley, President Theodore J. Roosevelt, President John F. Kenndy, King Carlos form Spain and Pope Paul II, among others.
Composed of 36 professionally talented misicians, the Army Band has traveled throughout Europe, the Caribben and the United State of America, bringing a rich blend of vocal and instrumental misical interpretations. The 248th Army Band from the Puerto Rico National Guard, a unique bilingual force, has earned the distinctivines to lure with its American, Latin and Caribbean rhythmical sound, the dancing spirit of all audiences.
The 248th Army Band serves as the musical ambassadors for the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. Stablished in 1946, the 248th fullfills its mission of providing professional music to Troops, Community and Government. Among the ensembles that form part of the 248th are a Concert Band, Ceremonial Band, Stage Band, Rock Band, Combos and Chamber groups.Our members also fullfill their civilian responsabilities while serving as citizen soldiers. Some of our members are Music Professors, Professional Musicians and students at the major music schools in the country.

1. $200 pay per weekend
2. $300 a month for school
3. 100% Tuition assistance
4. Pension
