About Me

I am a telecom bedouin/mountain man/writer and a Brother of Equal Indignity of the Ancient & Honorable Order of E. Clampus Vitus, a society of drunken historians or historic drunks depending on who you talk to. I have semi-circumnavigated the globe in both directions and been everywhere from San Francisco to Singapore to Port Said to the Cote D'Azure. As a kid, I sold the local newspapers in the same bar Jack London hung out at in the 1890's as a member of the Fish Patrol. I went from being tear-gassed at People's Park in Berkeley in 1968 to helping maintain America's nuclear deterrent arsenal and I embrace all the contradictions within that statement. My wife and I run a writing group at msn groups called Universal Writers Group. The web address is as follows: http://groups.msn.com/UniversalWritersGroupWe have been named the top writing/critique group on the internet for two years running by Writer's Digest Magazine in their annual survey of the top 101 websites for writers on the internet. No small feat considering we have been up and running for only 2 1/2 years.I am currently working on the stories of my Father's experiences as a Merchant Seaman during World War 2 with the working title of, "Tales of the Inadvertent Pacifist".As my Daddy used to tell me,"Just remember son, no matter where you are at sea, you're never more than 7 miles from land...straight down.
