About Me

At the age of 10, Jeff got his first drumkit and a lesson on how to play a two-finger boogie-woogie on the piano from "Judy" - a teenaged family friend. For many years down in his cellar, Jeff played that boogie-woogie fast and slow, and performed long Gene Krupa/Cozy Cole style solos on his drums. Early on, he bought every single rock & roll, rockabilly and rhythm & blues record he could get his hands on. Jeff played in various recording bands for 12 years (including Al Anderson's Wildweeds) before writing, singing and performing his own songs, mostly in the style of 50's rock & roll. Jeff fronted 2 bands, The Contenders, then later Jeff Potter & the Rhythm Agents. He co-produced and played many of the instruments on Betsy-Dawn Williams' Rocket Girl CD on El Toro Records. In addition to performing solo, Jeff also tours as a member of the The Lustre Kings, often backing Wanda Jackson. On occasion, Jeff also plays piano with Travis LeDoyt. Jeff has releases on the English labels Nervous, Fury, Raucous Records, as well as Dynamite Records, US, and a brand new disc on El Toro Records, Spain. Studio work has included recording on Columbia, Vanguard and Buddha Records. Jeff still likes to make trips down to the cellar to play the drums.

WANDA JACKSON TOUR

Just finished a two-week tour, playing piano for Wanda. She seems to be getting younger ! She looks terrific and she's doing her songs closer to the tempos of her early recordings. Great time !

SCREAMIN 2008

I'm a busy boy at this festival. I'll be playing my own show and also joining Wanda Jackson, Betsy-Dawn Williams and The Lustre Kings. It's gonna rock. Dates and times will be determined soon.  ...
