Discovery fuckin' Times. Metalocalypse is key. But seriously, television makes us dullards.
Anything involving western philosophy or mythology. I'm anticipating this book titled "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War", by Max Brooks, son of Mel Brooks. He also wrote the now-famous Zombie Survival Guide. Ian Christe's book "The Sound of the Beast" also deserves a nod for how comprehensive it is in examining heavy metal. I've been spending a lot of time with my head in textbooks lately. I'm more into nonfiction (especially involving ancient history), and it takes a great author to keep me interested in fiction. The music mags i read are Revolver, Guitar World, Alternative Press, Decibel, Terrorizer, Unrestrained, and sadly, Rolling Stone.
