C’est l’histoire d’une famille rock & métal jusqu’au petit chien qui, avec 2 amis : Postman et Berp, se sont lancés dans le monde musical, en créant le fanzine « Odymetal ». Le nom d’Odymetal vient d’Odym, nom de notre chien, un cavalier king charles, élevé au son d’Iced Earth et Iron Maiden ! « Cerbadd » et « Mirabel » ont grandi avec Rolling Stones, Ten Years After, Status Quo, Deep Purple, Yes… Titanic, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd... « Eagle » et « Troll » avec Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, Gamma Ray, AC/DC, Motörhead, Yes… et « Feline », moins métal, avec M.Z. & The Old Dead Tree. En 2000, nous avons rencontré et sympathisé avec Roger Wessier (concerts, promotion, etc… - Base Prod - site : http://www.base-productions.com ) et c’est ainsi que l’aventure a commencé :
Novembre 2001 : création de l’association « ODYMETAL ».
Janvier 2002 : sortie du n° 1 d’Odymetal (114 pages, 35 interviews + spécial Killers).
Mars 2003 : 1 er anniversaire du fanzine avec le n° 5 d’Odymetal et 1ère magnifique couverture réalisée par Berp.
Juin 2004 : organisation du 1 er festival « Metal Argonne » avec Thorgen, Fiinky Pie, Kob, Fatals.
Juin 2005 : 2ème festival « Metal Argonne » avec Fiinky Pie, Thorgen, Messaline, Fatals.
Septembre 2005 : création d’un site web complémentaire au fanzine : http://odym.etal.free.fr
Décembre 2006 : création page MySpace.
Comme on le dit souvent « c’est rien que du bonheur !! ». Du bonheur de rencontrer des passionnés de métal (pros & fans), de découvrir des groupes, de rencontrer des musiciens, d’assister à de fabuleux concerts, mais surtout de pouvoir partager cette passion avec vous tous dont nos fidèles lecteurs.
