Influences: I started out on Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and John Coltrane, moved onto Sly and the Family Stone, Al Green and Aretha Franklin, delved deep into PJ Harvey and Liz Phair, hung out in the early indie scene in NYC - Sidewalk Cafe Anti-folk, Cafe Sine - watched Jeff Buckely become a star before my eyes, was mentored by relatively unknown but well respected NYC downtown music scenster/art-rock song-writer, Ed Pastorini (Church of Betty, Elysian Fields, 101 Crustaceans), re-visited Neil Young and Crazy Horse, discovered and listened to all of Nick Drake, wandered the streets of NYC, Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco, Seattle and heard some great artists taking risks- Geoff McPeek, Bonfire Madigan, Chris Sauer, and too many others whose names I don't all remember or know but whose perfomances showed me what was possible... more to come...
