Soke Carlos R. Esquilin is the Founder of the Rokudai-Jitsu Ninpo ("The Sixth Generation Technique of the Way of Enlightment"), holds the rank of 10th Dan, and many other high rankings. He started in the Martial Arts in 1971, in Puerto Rico (USA). He joined one of the first Karate organizations in Puerto Rico under Victor Moyett "Barrabas". In the year 1976 received the rank of Shodan. For the year 1981 he became a top leader for the black belts; his teacher was suffering from an illness and let him as "Successor Inheriting the Art" and received in 1984 the rank of 6th Dan as the maximum rank in the organization. Many styles were incorporated, moving the growth of the art to the traditional and orthodox systems (Shorin Ryu Kenpo, Matsumuran Kobudo, Iaido, Kenjutsu, Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, Aikido Yoshinkan, Aikido Tenshin and Koga Ryu Ninjutsu were incorporated in the curriculum of training and certification. Traveling experience and contact with great masters in USA and Japan like Kisshumaru Ueshiba, Moriteru Ueshiba, Haruo Kobayashi, Shogen Okobayashi, Takeshi Kawabe, Haruo Ishikagy, Fumio Toyoda, Yoshimitsu Yamada, George Alexander, Bruce Heillman, Jacomo Spartacco Bartoletti, Robert Clark, Ronald Duncan, Michael DePasquale Sr., Michael DePasquale Jr., Wally Jay, Felix Vazquez, Glenn Prenrum, Graham Lewis, Larry Reynosa and Steven Segal, are some of the teacher who made influence in his technique and his Bushido. Two times recognized by the World Head of Family Sokeship Council International Hall of Fame, by the Latin American Martial Arts Hall of Fame, and others. Presentations in TV programs in PR, news papers, magazines like Karate International (USA) and Samurai Deportivo (in Italy), and books like Karate-Do en Puerto Rico, make him one of the most prestigious and respected Latin American Grandmasters. Recognized as a 10th Soke Founder of the art of Rokudai-Jitsu Ninpo by Dr. Phillip S. Porter in USA and the Martial Arts International in Germany and recently a PhD Degree by the International University of Martial Arts Science. Soke Carlos R. Esquilin is the only one Aikido and Aikijujutsu instructor in Puerto Rico who had a training experience directly with Kisshumaru Ueshiba (Aikido Founder's son) and Moriteru Ueshiba (Aikido Founder's grandson) in Tokyo Japan for the year 1996, under Shihan Fumio Toyoda's organization. He also trained in Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu with students from Master of the Takeda family of Japan and he was one of the last Steven Seagal convertion test for Tenshin Aikido in California for 2001.
His Dojo is located in Juncos Puerto Rico (USA). His strong regulations and protocols of training make his Dojo very respected by his powerful techniques. His philosophy of living and train for a real battle work every day in his teachings. The last five years he dedicated his teachings to the USA Military Special Forces officials and Special Operations Agents. In 2006 was recognized as a 10th Dan founder of the Rokudai-Jitsu Ninpo and Takeda Shingen Ryu Aikijujutsu systems by Dr. Quoc L. Tran.
