Young B was born on the 25th October 1993. He comes from the East of the UK, Norwich to be exact. He has ties to the north of England, Lincoln, Nottingham and Doncaster especially, and also to the south west. He has been a fan of hip hop music since he was eight years old, this was when he started writing, but not seriously. B seriously picked up the mic in December 2006. He started by recording accapellas and freestyles over beats. He put the songs up onto myspace and got decent feedback. Then, in June 2007 he started work on Ain't Grown Yet. He contacted producers in the USA and also the UK and he created the mixtape. It was his first official release. It got lukewarm reviews (2/5) on www.datpiff.com. You can download this mixtape on the blog. Since then he has built up a formidable fan base in both his home town and area, and also worldwide. His mic prescence and confidence has improved hugely. He has started using complex rhyme structures, multiple syllable rhymes and as many metaphors as you can get into a line. This is a long way away from the ABC rhymes he used to use. His connections include Young Mon£y, Ca$his, Grandaddy Souf, Miss Dade County, Bobby Creekwater, No Good AKA No Gizzle, Big Paybacc and many more. He has started work with a producer named Bass. Bass and Young B are doing a mixtape together which is called 'Street Certified'. Only three songs are complete from this project, but it is looking good. Young B's second tape is very nearly complete. It is called Sold My Soul. Look out for it's release sometime in April. After Sold My Soul, a mixtape called Four Corners will be released. The beats on this tape are all produced by Yung Miss, who is also the host. Four Corners will be released a fortnight after Sold My Soul no matter what. People have often asked about an album. Young B says he plans to do 20 mixtapes before an album is released. He wants to showcase his different abilies. He has plans for grime mixtapes, R&B mixtapes, G Funk mixtapes, Crunk mixtapes and also a mixtape, which is currently in production, showcasing his production skills. Young B has been producing beats on a keyboard for around 3 years. But only three weeks ago he bought FL Studio 7, FruityLoops edition. He immediately set about providing the fans and his fellow rappers with some banging beats. All beats are free as Young B often said it annoyed him when underground producers charge for their beats, so all he requires is a shoutout of his myspace url as this will gain him promotion and get him more work. To hear Young B's beats listen to the player below, or visit www.soundclick.com/youngbbeats. Young B has also started a record label with fellow rapper and longtime friend Old Naledi. It is called UK Street Records, with two branches out of that: Young B's LDN Gutter Entertainment and Old Naledi's R.A.W. Society. B is planning to set the label up properly when he hits the age of 16. He will then set about finding a distribution deal. The future is certainly bright for this rising UK star, and if you like what you hear then be sure to drop a friend request, comment or message as Young B checks this page himself!
