Good Friday a.k.a. Anderson DaSilva lives in Central Mass just north of the city of Worcester and 45 miles west of Boston with his wife and two daughters . Good Friday started writtin' rap lyrics 4 years ago for fun because him and his 2 buddy's liked to get in the car pop in an instrumental and just rap to it to where ever they were goin'. But he didn't realize that was the start of what God had in store for his future.
At age 5 Good Friday came to the United States from Brasil. He spent the first 5 years of his life in a city called Governador Valadares. First couple of years in the States was hard for him since he didn't know much English. Over the years he learned better English while goin' to an elementary school in Framingham Ma. He grew up goin' to Church with his mother and sister and some time to church with his father since his mother and father went to 2 different churches. His mother went to prodestent church and his father went to a Catholic church. He never really under stood but he went because his mother made him. At age 8 he started to hear a unique sound on the radio waves, the unique sound was Hip Hop. He instantly fell in love with it. As he got older he became more and more influenced by the culture dressin' and talkin' the way the culture taught him. He would always be listenin' to Ice T, NWA, Big Daddy Kane, Jodeci, Das EFX, Red Man and Method Man. They showed him how to live on the streets. He would eventually stop goin' to church with his mother and form his own ideas about God. Growin' up in Framingham Massachusetts the largest town in the country by population, there is very much urban life there. Not long after he got into drinkin' and smokin' weed, thinkin' it was the cool thing to do with his boy's. He would go to the corner stores to steel cigarettes, go to girls houses to drink and mess around and always be out late nights smokin' weed. At age 15 he would always talk his friend into taken his moms car out to go drivin' even though they didn't have license or a permit. One night Good Friday and his boy were out drinkin with another friend who was 21, old enough to get alcohol for them. Again his boy would take the wheel of his car while the older friend was passed out and drive into the City of Worcester. After drivin' through a red light and a stop sign and not stoppin' for a police cruiser when the police cruiser had it's lights on, Good Friday and his boy would be surrounded by cops and put into a patty wagon and taken' to jail for bein' in position of alcohol as a minor and for his boy drivin' without a license while drunk. The friend that was over 21 got set free, and never spoke for them. This is a night Good Friday would never forget.
That Summer Good Friday would visit family in Brasil. This is where God began to speak to him. His older cousin would show him something the he never thought existed. His cousin should him Christian Rap. He was blown away. He believed in God but didn't how to got to him because of the culture. He realized that Christian rap was the answer. He bought a bunch of Cd's while on his visit in Brasil. Some he thought were wack and some were really good. When he arrived home after his 3 week visit in Brasil he immediately went in his room and threw away all the secular hip hop CD's he had and vowing to God that he would never by a Secular Hip Hop CD again. So now at age 16 Good Friday became a believer of Jesus Christ. But bein' a Christian at age 16 and in High School is not easy. He had a girlfriend who would later be his wife. They would fall into temptation and age 18 Good Friday became a father. Determined he finished High School and went to college. After he would move in with his girlfriend and they got married.
