“KING JAMES†– Da Arkansas Hero!!Born into the world as James Hollimon; King James, has grown to be one of the elite artist in the state of Arkansas. Starting out at an early age, he was often seen in his elementary school cafeteria freestyling to a beat constructed by human hands, and ink pens. While the thought of seriously pursuing music was not yet present, it was obvious that his love for music was not absent. At the age of 11, he began recording his rhymes on cassette tapes in his mother’s bathroom. Three years later at age 14, Kevin Buckley, presented King with his first opportunity to record in a professional studio. Since then, it has been history in the making. Buckley, immediately recognized the talent within King, and encouraged him to start his own group. King recruited a few members from his Jr. High clique, and decided the clique name should also be the name for the group; “Soldier Boyzâ€, was born. The group instantly became the town favorite, with hit singles such as “Gettin Richâ€, “Call Dem Troopsâ€, “We From Da Aâ€, “JB’s Krunkestâ€, and the most recent “Shirt Swangazâ€. While closely intact with the group; King James, and Soldier Boyz, performed major shows with artist such as Bone Thugz-N-Harmony, Yo Gotti, Project Pat, Huey, and the Sony Urban Music talent showcase. After years of recording and performing with his group, King James felt like it was time to make solo moves. In January, 2007, he scheduled only four studio sessions, and came out with a 23 track mixtape. His first project, “King James In Da Buildin†Vol. I, immediately created a huge buzz for the new solo artist. It definitely expanded his fan base, and landed a nomination for “Mix-tape Rookie Of The Yearâ€, for the 2008 Southern Entertainment Awards. Despite the accomplishments, his group still remains a top priority on his list, and they are planning to release several new projects in the near future. With the rapid growth of King’s resume, it is certain that you will be hearing a lot from this young artist. With his motivation to one day buy his mother that dream home, and putting his state on the map, King James will be remembered as…...“Da Arkansas Hero!!â€
