The Boogie Man

About Me

Born and raised in Wisconsin, Dennis Gordon Ottenbacher in 1942. Denny King was a rockin favorite of yesterday while making his beginings in the early 60's on the Milwaukee local music scene playing a rocking haunting guitar style and singing leads and back up vocals. He migrated to the Lancaster California area and ran between the up and comming music scene there and stretched his sounds as far over as the High Desert area. Denny King also did studio session work and toured with various bands and artist including but not limited to: The Righteous Brothers, The Monkees, The Darnells and The BO Boogie Band, which we pay tribute to here in hopes that his sound will live on... although his flesh is gone.Denny King went on to run a booking agency, booking bars with the intent of helping musicians start up. He was a pioneer in opening the venues for musicians throughout many areas, and was the key person for providing top notch national entertainment for US forces in Korea. He died in April 2000 of a stroke/ heart attack - a rather humble and religious man.Rest in Peace Denny~
