About Me

..
My name is Mike and I've been in New York since October of 2005; I moved up here to take a job offer. I grew up in Florida - mostly the Orlando area. I joined the U.S. Marines right out of high school, I'm still not exactly sure why. I became an ordnance specialist, qualified as a sharpshooter, and started college - which just means: I worked with bombs, I could shoot pretty well, and I was trying to get smart. I'm definitely not what you think of when you think of a Marine, though... not even close. I'm not even sure how to qualify that statement; I just know it's true. I don't like to fight - I've only been in one actual fight in eight years. I spend a lot of time at work... even some of the time I'm at home is spent working; it's just the nature of my job. I'm okay with that - for now.I'd really like to meet some new people. Living in New York is always better with more people around you...That's really about all there is - if you want to know anything else then just ask me - I'm pretty open about most things. If you're in New York you'll usually find me in Midtown. I work in Rock Center and we like to hit some of the bars in the area when we have time... The Playwright, O'Lunney's, House of Brews... also every so often a group of us will get together and hit the Beer Garden in Queens.I'm getting pretty bored with this now, so I'm going to stop.? Feel free to hit me up sometime... I'm always down.

My Interests

..

..

Sto imparando parlare, leggo e scrivo l'italiano. Non è difficile e rende me il tatto molto astuto.
I'm currently learning to speak Italian... on my own. No real reason, I just kinda felt like it. It's not as hard as you'd think.

Music:

Music. Music is good. It's my business. Oh, and let's clear something up while we're on the topic: Wolfmother is not rock music. It's just not. Stop saying it is. You're pissing off the Rock Gods (you know, Eddie, Pete, Robert, Steven, and Paul.)

I love The Who. The Who is pretty incredible... seriously... it's amazing shit. Right up there with Pink Floyd. Also, proves that musicians are always better when they're on dope. Speaking of which... anyone wanna go ahead and mail Scott Weiland a needle? He needs it.

Movies:

I just watched Pan's Labyrinth... just kind of happened across it coming on HBO... and ya know, I think that may be one of the best films I've ever seen. I didn't even know what the story was about before I watched it, but it's just an amazing story. I sat through the whole thing - which is in Spanish - reading the subtitles on a tiny little 20-inch TV. I don't really know why, but I just feel like this is one of the best movies that I've ever seen. You should see it... everyone should see it.

Television:

Christina Applegate is seriously just disturbingly gorgeous... have you seen her in that new show "Samantha Who?"... so hot... insanity.

Books:

The God Delusion - Richard Dawkins
Ideas and Opinions - Albert Einstein
A Brief History of Time - Stephen Hawking
Time: A Traveler's Guide - Paul Davies
Merriam Webster Dictionary of English Usage - EVERYDAY!

Heroes:

My mom mainly, but there are others. People who make something out of nothing and fortunes out of poverty. And while I wouldn't classify him as a "hero", Billy West is pretty fucking incredible. At the very least, he's definitely an inspiration.

My Blog

Which came first - the printer or the toner?

I'm kind of shocked by something I've learned recently and I'm hoping that someone out there might be able to explain to me a rational explanation.I have a color laser printer at home that I use to pr...

How real is a dream?

My dreams have been pretty strange lately. And while I hate to admit [THE COINCIDENCE], this started about the same time I hung my mystic symbol from Riley Martin over my bed.  Yeah, you know, th...
