Communication is the key to music

About Me

My name is Zoie Finer and I live in Stockholm, Sweden. After living a bit abroad like in Paris, the UK and Greece, I now settled down in Stockholm again. My father is British and my mum's American. The different art forms such as music, dance and acting have always been a big part of my childhood. My special singing voice (as others tell me) I started to develop in my early teens.
In addition to my own talent, many in my family also persue a great musical career such as my sister Sarah Dawn Finer and brother Rennie Mirro, Dorothy Irving, Eric Bibb amongst more.
Throughout the years and different music degrees ( the last degree was at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm) I've tried most musical styles but feel most comfortable with jazz, sing and songwriter pop, soul and blues. I perform with jazzbands and have sung in soul cover bands, and gospelchoirs. The most important thing for me when I play is that there is a meeting amongst the musicians but also towards the audience and the goal is always to make the edge of the stage disappear so that the emotions truely can meet. I have sung in all sorts of venues like restaurants, clubs, stages, private parties, churches and in studios.
It would be great to get in contact with some managers and other musicians. Feel free to contact me...

Men hon övertygar mig – sångerskan Zoie Finer.
På borden i Täby Park Hotel ligger ett menyförslag om 99 låtar, alltifrån ”All the things you are” till ”You go to my head”.

Band Members:
I am playing in three band for the moment:
Jazz a la carte - a mix of jazz and soul and evergreens
Lime house swing band - jazz from the era 1920's - 1950's
Bon appetit - a trio where we serve a musical plate
Influences: I get inspired by lovely conversations with people, travelling around, things I hear, see and experience. In terms of music my main core quality is that the performer has something of their own and can reach out to others with it. That there is a powerful conviction that I wanna tell and touch someone else no matter it is through words, instrument, fabrics, plays, movement, pictures, paintings or other things.I love singer such as Stevie Wonder, , Michael Jackson, India Arie, Billie Holiday, Cornelius Vreeswijk, Monica Zetterlund, Lisa Nilsson, Lenny Kravitz, Eva cassidy, Chet Baker, Cesaria Evora, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Janis Joplin and Sting, Christian Walz, Sarah Finer but also Bob Marley, Bono, Freddie Mercury, Marie fredriksson, Sara Isaksson, Phil Collins, Donny Hathaway.
