Voices of the Silent

Infinite hiatus... thanks for all of the love!

About Me

Voices of the Silent was formed in the fall of 2006 when former band mates Bill Werkheiser and Josh Bollman got together to form a new band. Nathan Spurlock was added first, and with his ability to thrash on the guitar, the band now known as Voices of the Silent was off and running. The song writing came along at a breakneck speed, featuring a heavy, mature sound, complimented by the riffs and musicality of the guitarists, Nathan and Josh, and Bill’s amazing drumming ability. However, there were obvious pieces missing from the band. The first to be addressed was the bass role. This led to the tapping of Shaun Meyer, whose aggressive playing style was a perfect fit for the band’s heavy music. The next to fall into place was the vocalist Jared Borchardt. Jared’s tortured screams were just the sound that Voices of the Silent needed. However, there was yet another level of vocals that would be added through Shane Harbach, whose mix of sung vocals and screams completed the heavy sound that was Voices of the Silent.
Late in 2007 and early 2008, Voices of the Silent decided to part ways. However, they played one last show with a slightly modified lineup, with Shane now alone on vocals and Kirk Wedig (formerly of Mankinds Lesson) on guitars. They went out with a bang, and as always, are thankful for all who came out to their final show!
Voices of the Silent has shared the stage with God Forbid, Powerman 5000, Till We Die, Dope, and Anew Revolution. They have also played with other great local acts such as Faded Embrace, Threshold, Trivial (R.I.P.), The Funeral Fashion (Bearing Point), Man Made Man, Forever to Burn (R.I.P.), and Lygate.
