Completing 4 years together, Funked Up is one of the most amounting groups in the greek hip hop scene.
The group got together in 2003 in Palaio Faliro with Y-Not (Rap, Vocals), Mo Skillz (Rap) and DJ Priest (Production, Scratching)
with the aim to introduce a more soulful, funk sound to the Greek crowd. In 2005, Funked Up introduced themselves
to the hip hop scene with their first work; a demo CD, complete with 4 songs recorded with minimal equipment, no experience
but a lot of energy. With this work, Funked Up managed to land their first record deal with Atlantis Records, and in 2007
their first official debut album, "The Classics Vol. 1" was released, which is selling unbelievably well. Soon, Funked Up will aquire
airplay time on TV and on the radio, and they are slowly becoming more well known in the domestic hip hop scene.
From their first album, 2 video clips have been filmed: "H Polh Den Koimate Pote" (Top 10 at Mad Tv) and "Mazi Sou Eidika"
(In Post Production). Featuring artists such as: Ominus, Sifu Versus, Evnus, Lagnis, K-Chill etc. "The Classics Vol. 1" was one
of the best albums of 2007 and a huge breakthrough for Funked Up themselves.
At the same time, Funked Up shares an important part of responsibility for the 2 street mixtapes by Ominus, "The Official Comeback
Mixtape" and "To Kourdisto Mixtape" while participating energetically in their creations. The 2 mixtapes which are free for
download, left an everlasting and succesful impression (More than 10,000 downloads each) ..that success gave Funked Up and Ominus
an oppurtunity to work together again for a common project.
In the begining of 2008, they released their latest work, a free street E.P. with the name "Oi Specialistes" which is getting the group ready
for their second official album which is going to be released later in 2008,through a new record deal with "GrandRoyal Productions",a label of E.M.I.Funked Up has put a personal bet, and so far, they're winning!Get Ready ....
