When most people hear "DJ Priest" they wonder how someone could think of something like that to use as a name... There's already a long story behind the name "Priest" for DJ Priest himself and for the people around him. Producer of the group Funked Up, he began his mission as a DJ in 2002 performing gigs around Athens. In a short time he made it as a resident at the best hip hop events playing at clubs such as: Venue, Club22, Envy, Destijl, Balux, Bo, Atlantis, Dekko and many more. As his name was getting more and more recognized, DJ Priest doesn't put down and started producing in 2004 for Y-Not and Mo Skillz. As DJ Priest himself says "I never wanted to be just a club DJ.. I wanna produce... I wanna make music.." and so it happened. From 2004 until today, DJ Priest along with the 2 aspiring MC's is working non stop, introducing to the greek crowd a soulful funk ,hip hop style. In 2006 he joined together with the most charismatic greek MC, Ominus. The result of this partnership was 2 mixtapes which have more than 10,000 downloads each. In 2007, his debut album "The Classics Vol. 1" was released with the collaboration of Y-Not and Mo Skillz, which is going unbelievably well... From this album, 2 songs distinctivly stand out which are currently being developed into video clips: "H Polh Den Koimatai Pote" (Top 10 on Mad TV) and "Mazi Sou Eidika".Straight after a break of 1,5 years from club DJing, DJ Priest decided to make a come back with Ominus. They now throw the hottest parties at some of the best clubs in Athens. Dj Priest and Funked Up's latest collaboration with Ominus is the street EP with the title "Oi Spesialistes", a soulful street album which is going to follow the footsteps of the successes of the previous album! At this point in time, DJ Priest is working on Funked Up's second album which Funked Up themselves say it's going to give a new color to the greek hip hop scene, the color of DJ Priest and his friends!!!
