About Me

--------------------------- -------------------------
I'm an actor/improvisor who loves theatre, film and performance art, be it fast, furious, funny, off-the-wall or just leaves you feeling challenged, touched and entertained. I've studied Theatre & Film at the Victoria University of Wellington (BA) and Acting at the Victorian College of the Arts (BPA).
I spent some time as a Children's Entertainer with the Company Princess Promotions, where I got to dress up as Spiderman and more of my heroes - Kapow! - and I've taken children and young adults in workshops and drama classes.
Some of the stage shows I have performed in include: Impro Sundae (The Crew), The Abuction from the Seraglio (Lyric Opera), Jet of Blood (Ignite), Penny Machinations (Melbourne Fringe), Gilgamesh and the UFO Show ( both Uncle Semolina & Friends) Bent (Chapel off Chapel), As You Like It (Victoria Universty Summer Shakespeare) and Cunning Stunts (BATs Theatre).
I've also appeared in short films, including Voiceover, the winner of the 1997 New Zealand Short Film awards, and also on radio plays and commercials. You might have seen me in one of my regular outings with long-running Melbourne Impro group The Crew. and the award winning independant theatre company Uncle Semolina (& Friends).
I've put up some pictures of my past performances - some of them going all the way back to my time at VCA! To see them, click the "Pics" button near the top left hand corner of the page. This section is only available to MySpace members though, so if that's not you, you will have to be content with the slideshow below.
I live in Melboune, Australia but I also spend time in Wellington, New Zealand.
I also write Arts columns and reviews for the website Pretend Paper. .

My Interests

Making theatre and films. Politics, when its more than posturing and egos. Watching people on trams, sometimes until it becomes uncomfortable for both of us. Singing. Yoga & Buddhism.

GILGAMESH MELBOURNE RETURN SEASON :

Gilgamesh, the hit of the Melbourne International Art Festival and the Next Wave Festival, is coming back to Melbourne for three nights only. If you missed it before, don’t make the same mistake again!

GILGAMESH: INTERNATIONAL TOUR

I am speechless with delight to be part of the Uncle Semolina & Friend's international tour of their successful show "Gilgamesh" in October and November of this year. For details of the company and the show, go the UNCLE SEMOLINA WEBSITE .

Later in October we will be performing at the NEWBURY CORN EXCHANGE in the UK.
Then it's off to China where we will perform at the Shanghai Arts Centre and the Beijing Pioneer Theatre.
We wrap up the tour by coming back to Australia. Between November 15 and November 25, we will be performing at the Studio in the Sydney Opera House. Tickets are available through the OPERA HOUSE WEBSITE .
You can see a still photo from Gilgamesh on the top right hand corner of this page. If you want to see more, go to my pictures section and look for the "Gilgamesh" folder.

CONSULTATIONS WITH DR RUDY HEINNELICHEN :

Dr Rudy Heinnelichen (MBChb FRAKP Dip. Fr. Psych.) wants to peer inside your head and show you the secrets of your greatest desires.
Dr Rudy is a slightly unorthodox Austrian Psychiatrist who provides dream interpretations to needy patrons. All he requires is a couch in the corner of your dance party, festival or event. He welcomes the occasional voyeur to his consultations, which last around 10 minutes each.
Dr Rudy'd techniques would down particularly well at Rave Parties, in the corner of a chillout area somewhere. The doctor could also roam around giving people spot check ups.
If you are looking for entertainment to spice up an event, you know anyone who might be,send me a message! Dr Rudy might just pay you a visit with his able (yet severe) assistant, Heather Sayer as Nurse Spanken (see us above). Rates negotiable, depending on where, what and how long.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who likes to make *or watch* funny, moving and challenging theatre, especially those in Melbourne or Wellington. People that surprise me. Guerilla film-makers. Improvisors who push the envelope. Those with a social conscience who like to have a good laugh about the world. Brave folk not afraid to share their softness. So if that's you - then send me a message and add me as your friend! I send the occasional bulletin out (try to keep it at once a week max!) with details of any current projects I'm involved in. I keep an update of what I'm up to next in the left hand column.
