Tania Bosak is a percussionist, vocalist, theatre worker and dancer. She studied performing arts and dance at Deakin University and went on to train as an actor at the John Bolton Theatre School. She began working in television and film and with various touring street theatre groups, including The Hunting Party, and Gonghouse, but it was when she performed with STOMP in 1992, that rhythm became IT!She went on to study African dance and drumming in Senegal, Indian Classical Dance in India as well as various drumming styles in the USA and Australia including, Haitian, Brazilian and Cuban percussion and in 2004 was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study drum and dance in Korea. After 10 years of intensive training in the USA and Vienna, Tania qualified as an Advanced TA KE TI NA Rhythm Facilitator studying with founder Reinhard Flatischler and Cornelia Flatischler, and begins her Senior training in Austria 2009.Tania is active as a band leader with her groups Velika Buka (MELB), Rektango and The Moods Band (TAS/MELB) and will be launching her SAMBA - JAZZ Band Beijao in Melbourne with Konrad Park. She was musical director and live composer with Jethro Woodward for the Melbourne Fringe show, NOT DEAD YET. The show was a RAWCUS and BORN IN A TAXI collaboration, which was awarded the most outstanding production of the Melbourne Fringe 2005.She continues to work in theatre and teaches actors in training at Victoria University, and in 2002 established her own integrated drum teaching method PULSE DRUM. Tania has toured with Chamber Made Opera's PHOBIA as actor and drummer. She also directed the Tasmanian music/theatre work, THE TANK by Steve and Mick Thomas, which has been touring since 2000.Tania along with BUG recently opened a Jazz venue for the TASTE OF TASMANIA. LA PIAZZA opened for 3 Nights in the Courtyard and will return in 2009.Tania is currently writing a new CONCERT/THEATRE work EXIT, based on her Father's defection story. EXIT will feature Tim Cole on sound/visual design, her moods ensemble band (the usual suspects) with special guests Shannon Birchall bass/violin and John Bolton as director. And finally the bit I usually leave out... I was a stand up comic in the early 90's for three years, yes three years, and I even got paid. ____________________________________________________________ _______________ Interested in THE TA KE TI NA RHYTHM PROCESS or PULSE DRUM CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS?
