About Me

Leah J is the author of more than 260 songs and is currently living in the Gulf Coast of Florida. She formerly recorded "Dedication" as a member of the CCM duo "J-Scott" with fellow Seminarian and songwriting partner Scott Ailes, and recorded a solo piano/vocal CD "Songs in the Key of Me" with James K Productions producer and college friend, Ben Howe, both in 2002. In 2004, Leah J produced Scott Ailes' first solo CD "Made for More" at SmallVoice Studios in Ashland, Ohio, lent background vocals to Ron Sprunger's children's musical "Let's Celebrate!", and sang BGV's and played piano on Joshua John's debut CD "Listen". She's also a featured pianist on Mark Jones' progrock CD "The Jezreel Road." "Deeper" is 1 of the 4 demos recorded at Studio K-13 in Lima, Ohio by producer Alan Patterson (of Studio K13 and Patterson Music Group fame) in January, 2007. In January of 2008 she'll return to the studio with friend Joe Thayer to record piano/vocal tracks. ____Leah J is the pastor of Christ the Servant Community Church in Cape Coral, Florida. She is available for concerts and special music at local churches or Christian gatherings, and she enjoys leading or speaking at women's spiritual life retreats, teaching on the classic Spiritual Disciplines. She also enjoys outdoor ministries as a camp counselor (Thanks, Camp Inspiration Hills in Burbank, Ohio!).____Leah J was born in Johnstown, PA; reared in Indiana, PA (Hometown of Jimmy Stewart and Christmas Tree Capital of the World!); lived many years in Ashland, OH; attended undergraduate school at Harding University in Searcy, AR; and began an as-yet unfinished Masters Degree in Church Music and Spiritual Formation at Ashland Theological Seminary before moving to Sarasota/Bradenton, FL to work with Crossroads Community Church (a Brethren Church). She relocated to Cape Coral in March, and is officially living in the tropics (Missing autumn and winter terribly!!!). As of September 7, 2007, she is licensed to the set-apart ministry in the Church of the Brethren, Atlantic Southeast District, and will be attending Bethany Seminary to complete a Master of Divinity. She loves driving, traveling (so far; Scotland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and over 30 of the United States), Pittsburgh teams (Pirates/Penguins/ Steelers), "24" and "House, M.D." and "Life," reading mysteries and Renaissance/17th Century British Literature, listening to most kinds of music, and anything connected with the beaches of Southwest Florida. She's lived in Indiana PA, Ashland OH (twice), Searcy AR, Ligonier PA, New Enterprise PA, Bradenton FL, Sarasota FL, and most recently Cape Coral FL.
