Tajja is a dynamic young singer-songwriter and actor who continues to shine in the music and entertainment scene in both North America and the UK.
Tajja is a veteran in the world of animation. She provided the voice for the title role of Breakthrough/Atomic Cartoons' hit series 'Atomic Betty.' Her work on 'Betty' won her the prestigious Young Artist Award in Hollywood for 'Best Performance In A Voice-Over Role' for two consecutive years (05/06). As well, the 2007 ACTRA Awards honoured her with an 'Outstanding Voice Performance' nomination for this role. With season three in motion, 'Betty' has produced several opportunities for Tajja including two live music videos and a music CD of original compositions written for the show. Released by KOCH US records in fall 2005, it features Tajja singing all ten tracks of an eclectic selection of pop/rock and R&B. The title track spent five weeks at number one on the XM Radio Kids Charts.
Two new animated projects to watch out for are the Nelvana/WETA CGI animated series 'Jane and the Dragon,' in which Tajja dons a British accent to voice the lead role of 'Jane', for which she won the 2007 Young Artist Award for 'Best Performance In A Voice-Over Role,' and the comedic series 'Weird Years' (YTV/Lenz Ent) where Tajja voices 'Nadia', the sarcastic teen daughter of the recently immigrated 'Dorkovitch' family.
Tajja has also voiced several other lead characters including 'Sister Bear' in the Nelvana/PBS animated series 'The Berenstain Bears', earning her a Young Artist Award nomination in 2004. Other lead roles are 'Heidi' in Nelvana's animated feature 'Heidi', in which she co-starred with Christopher Plummer, 'Jazzi' in Decode Ent/Discovery Kids 'The Save-Ums', 'Trina' in Cuppa Coffee/Disney Playhouse series 'Jojo's Circus', 'Kayce Culp' in 'MP4ORCE: Beyond Real' (Berlin Film Co.), and 'Ponytail' and 'Jodie' in the two Emmy-nominated series 'Meteor the Monster Truck' and 'Time Warp Trio' (respectively.) Tajja can also be heard singing the theme songs of 'Atomic Betty,' 'The Save-Ums', 'Jane and the Dragon,' 'Franny's Feet,' 'Miss BG,' 'Meteor the Monster Truck,' and 'Jojo's Circus'.
Tajja's acting talents have taken her to other areas of the entertainment industry as well. At 11, she starred as 'Young Nala' in the Toronto production of Disney's 'The Lion King.' She enjoyed this role for eleven months, making her the longest running Nala of the Toronto show. For her work in 'The Lion King,' she earned a nomination for the 'Equity Emerging Artist Award.' Tajja also has on-camera experience, making an appearance in 'Doc' starring Billy Ray Cyrus and a number of television commercials, to name a few. A reccurring Naional Anthem singer for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA, she has also sung at various charitable functions.
Most recently, Tajja has been combining her vocal and piano talents and is currently working on a piano-rock solo album to release into the mainstream music arena. As an accomplished pianist working on her Grade 9 Conservatory, Tajja has been given the creative freedom to express both her own music and lyrics - being true to her music is really the ultimate goal in this project for Tajja.
