WHO WE ARE ......... We're Paula & Bob, we run the Mashed tea tent.
We've been attending festivals for over 20years now as punters and it had always been our dream (small though it is) to run a festival stall. Besides the music our favourite places have always been the tea tents and the chill out areas.
After attending the secret garden festival in 2005 we decided it was time to act and the seeds were finaly planted and from them grew our tea tent :-)
The pics below show us having our first trial run helping out at the May fayre in Leicester. Since then we've grown and developed considerably.
WHAT WE DO ......... We always try to be a bit more than just a tea tent, we want to be a place that can be enjoyed day and night by a wide range of people.
Our space is now fully decorated with fairies, flowers, spiders, bees and fairy lights. We have a small cosy seating area inside and plenty of outside seats with tables and decorated sunshades
AT NIGHT ..... We're transformed by solar powered fairy lights and colour changing mood lights and our garden and tent take on a whole new feel.
WHAT WE SELL ......... We stock over 20 different teas along with freshly filterd coffee, soup, hot chocolate, cookies, muffins, fruit and nuts. We also sell a few usefull festival things like wind up torches & phone chargers, loo rolls, camping mugs, glow sticks, lighters,rolling papers and 2nd hand books to read with your tea :-) I also sell the mushroom sculptures from the teapot garden and I have other designs and ideas in the making!
WHAT WE BELIEVE ......... We believe in keeping things simple and fair, so where possible we only buy fair trade and preferably organic. We also try to sell at a fare price ..we want people to go away happy not feeling ripped off :-)We're environment conscious and low tech.
We only use recyclables and run on gas and rechargable battery power, which we're swapping over to solar power (bit by bit as we can afford it!) .. NO NOISEY GENERATOR
Also all our signs and counter display and some of our decorations have been made from reclaimed materials, and our benches are old MOD :)
....SO THATS US AND OUR TENT IN AS SHORT A SUMMARY AS I COULD GET IT!
