Born and raised in the Netherlands with Chilean parents, Carlos Valdes was interested in music at a very young age. At the age of 6, his parents encouraged him to develop his musical skills and he started to play the piano and sing. From the age of 17, he started going out at night and discovered electronic music for which he developed a passion. When he first heard Rolando’s classic ’Knights of the Jaguar’. Carlos Valdes has already performed at well-known clubs and events in the Netherlands like Chemistry, Dimitri’s HighTech SoulMovement, Joost van Bellen’s ’Zin’ at the Arena, Panama, 11, Doornroosje, Twstd, Paradiso, 5 Days Off, HQ (Melkweg Cafe), Simplon, Free your Mind, Rockit, Melkweg, Mysteryland, Sensation Black, Studio 80, Noorderslag and Awakenings in Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Festival. His first international appearance lead immediately to an offer to become a resident in Munich in Germany. Ibiza 2002 he played at The Underground and on New Year’s Eve 2002 he made his first tour to Turkey. In January 2003, Carlos Valdes also made his first tour in South America where he played in various clubs. In 2006 and 2007 he did the same tour again with Barcelona on top. More international bookings followed to Vienna (Planetarium, Sass Club and more) and Germany in several cities like Berlin, Hamburg and Bielefeld for parties in Ubel & Gefahrlich and Bar 25. Carlos Valdes runs his own company ’Soulrock’ (www.soulrock.net) and organizes several events together with others; Mad, Vreemd (www.gajalvreemd.nl), Studio Soulrock, and Pixel at Club 11. Carlos Valdes runs his own bookingsagency and will establish two labels in 2008. In 2006 he started on his own tracks together with partner in crime Sandrien & also with ZoeXenia. Carlos Valdes won a price for "Best New Initiative" from the Gouden Kabouter Award Crew. He’s working hard to get his thing done and will let it grow and flow to all directions. Just like his style of mixing. His mixing style can be described as a refreshing & creative approach, he mixes Acid, House, Eectro, Minimal House & Techno and everything that comes his way and ROCKS.ROCKSOUL
