Lupe is a dj, artist, party organiser and vocalist who never limits himself, and more importantly, the crowd. He defies genres by mixing new techno and house with more pop inclined electro to full party-effect. He plays his part perfectly in both the Dutch underground and mainstream since he began deejaying in 2004.At the tender age of 12, Lupe discovered chicago house music... Through a present under the christmas tree that was simply named 'Acid House'. His exploration of electronic dance styles began! This moment marked him to always be on the edge, looking out for the best and latest music. Four years later, what's a 16 year old to do? Become a go-go dancer, get in parties for free! Insatiably paying attention to names and labels of the actual music spinning, he evolved from club kid to dance music connoisseur, party organizer and dj. It can honestly be said that he is intimately connected to the party crowd. His favorite classic track for go-go dancing? ' Throw'  by the Paperclip People.Lupe’s first exposure to spinning for a large audience came in 2005, when party-organization ID&T featured him as one of the headliners in the minimal-to-nu-acid area of Innercity (Holland’s largest indoor festival). His own hugely successful party UNK (Club 8) and Acid Nouveau (11/ RIP) parties brought him to be nominated for Best New DJ at Amsterdams' Gouden Kabouter' Award (2005) - and most sexy DJ (2009)!In early 2008 he took UNK international by throwing a triumphant party in Berlin. Music production also started then, including developing of vocals and songwriting out of boredom by too much squeeky-clean instrumental tracks. The need to express only grew bigger. Later that year he was chosen to play at Madonna’s Official World Tour afterparty in the Heineken Music Hall - a true feather in his iconic cap.Lupe is always renewing himself and pushing boundaries between music, people, gender and sexuality. The art project 'Project Lupe' with Bogomir Doringer in Mediamatic illustrates this. " I want to show there is nothing to be afraid of in each other, as to stop fear and therefore hating'.Not afraid to flaunt his queer sides, he also developed a hardcore italo disco alter ego! This he expresses through the party Italo Elite with Martin Duvall, Tom Trago & San Proper. He also made music selections for fashionshows like Fashion Institute Arnhem. This is close to the work esthetics of his studies Media & Culture in which he graduated.He’s shared lineups with Tiga, Miss Kittin, Dj T, Scissor Sisters, Booka Shade, Oliver Koletzki, Shinedoe, Kiki, 2000 and One, Chelonis R.
