Sadly Lee passed on April 13th 2003.My Son was a wonderful young man, very kind and caring in nature. I want to use this page as a dedication to Lee. his life though short was full.From Lee's Memorial Service: Staff Sergeant lee James Jenkins was a Financial Management Specialist; He performed his duties as a Travel Computations Technician for the 37th Comptroller Squadron, 37th Training wing, Lackland Air Force base, Texas. He was 22 years old. Sergeant Jenkins was born in Dundee, Scotland, on 24 May 1980.He graduated with honors from Santa Rita High School, Tucson, Arizona. He excelled in Mathamatics, History, baseball and basketball. He enlisted in the Air force in February 1999; completed basic military training and then attended Financial Management Specialist School at Sheppard Air Force base, Texas, in march 1999. Upon arrival at lackland AFB in July 1999 he was assigned to the Accounting Liason section where he "headed" the Receiving Report and Interest Penalty/Lost Discount Action Team for Lackland and it's tenant units. He was then assigned to the Travel Accounting section within the Accounting Liason where his duties included certification of funds availability on all Temporary Duty Orders. In June 2002 he was transferred to the Customer Support section as a Travel Computations Technician. His duties included processing travel claims for temporary duty performed throughout the world.Sergeant Jenkins attended Southwest Texas State University where he completed 32 credit hours towards a Batchelors Degree in Business Accounting.Sergeant Jenkins' outstanding performance earned him honors as the 37th Training Wing Airman of the Year for 2001. His Military awards include the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
