My life is perfect ~ couldn't be better ~ living the dream ~ excellent! As it should be...
Playing my mandolin ~ i have been playing my manjo constantly lately.. Puppets & Pinball. Music and community gatherings. Road trips - I love road trips - especially by myself. Trying to create world peace simply by creating peace within myself. Blasting Bela Fleck & the Flecktones while I drive - I believe I will reach self-actualization if I go to enough of their shows. Spacing out. I recently started to absolutely love hugs. Jogging is fun. Always being a reliable sober driver. Oh, yeah... Can't forget this... breaking hearts... I seem to have a reputation. I enjoy staring at maps. Gutter snuggle time. Zona Mona, Crazy Mona (that's my cat) snuggle time. Someday I hope to have a decent birthday party ~ a barn dance with a jug & saw band - and lots of moonshine. That would be great! ..
Anyone. Everyone. All of the genuine people.
Someday I'd really like to meet me.
I love bluegrass. If you have a bluegrass band I'd like to meet you. If you love bluegrass I would like to meet you. There is nothing better than finger~pickin', clog stompin', bass thunkin', fiddle wailin', banjo ringin', mando singin', moonshine influenced bluegrass.I also want to meet all the man-hating-hairy-legged-women-liber types out there. Especially the spiteful, estrogen influenced girl bands and artists. Come on ladies ~ let's stop fighting each other become allies for the greater good!
As far as famous people go~
Bill Monroe
Sam Bush ~ I want mandolin lessons from you!!!! Please find out I exist so I can learn everything you know!!!!
John Cowan
David Grisman
Cody Kilby
can't list them all...
Brandi Carlile
Ani DiFranco
Any bluegrass, newgrass, 2002grass, live bluegrass is best, but I step out of the bluegrass and into an unknown realm because I especially love the psyhedelic sounds of Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, but it still has banjo, so it's okay... Old favorites like Ben Fold Five, The Honeydogs, Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson - you just can't write country music without genuine life experience that may or may not include jail time. I very much dislike most bars and stadiums, but I very much enjoy outdoor music and theater shows. A couple favorites since I can remember - Patsy Cline, Ricky Skaggs and Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. I love Harmony Park. Garth Brooks can write 'em! Old recordings of New Grass Revival. On my last couple road trips I have been scouting out country stations wherever I can find them ~ until they don't come in anymore...I just discovered Sugarland, Brandi Carlile, Lucy (I can't remember her last name) and rediscovered Ani Difranco... That "Into the Wild" soundtrack has been playing lately, Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Son Volt (but not live), Tom Waits, Jill Sobule's song called "I Kissed a Girl", Blind Melon, Bruce Hornsby, Dill Scallion
The Muppet Movie, Rushmore, The Songcatcher (fantastic music), Spirited Away, Dill Scallion, Mystery Men, PCU (my dog is named after Gutter), Paint Your Wagon, Tommy, Tideland ~ and anything from the kitchen of Terry Gilliam, Delicatessen, Edward Scissorhands, Pleasantville, Anything with Clint Eastwood, Popeye, The World's Fastest Indian, I'll add more as I remember them... ..
The Muppet Show, The Simpsons, Lost, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, The X-Files - I guess I don't really watch a whole lot of TV because these are all on DVD ..
Whatever I reads, I reads. Mostly manuals for small appliances and out of print books about metaphysics...
Jim Henson, any tree, myself (what can I say ~ I rock), Gutter, pretty much anyone who can be sober and silly at the same time, true artists, everyone I get to know on a personal level because we are all just reflections of each other. ..
