nice people. not nice-boring, but nice-nice. people who are intelligent, who make me laugh and possibly get my jokes too. people who are open-minded and accepting. i get along really well with geeks, since i am one. ;o)i'm not looking for a man, or a new man, or somebody for a booty call, so please don't waste your time and mine by mailing me or asking to add me if that's what you're looking for, ok?i tend to friend people i already know, mostly. if you seem really cool and like someone i'd like to know or would like if i knew you, i might add you, too. i don't add very many bands, unless i've seen them, know them, or already like them. but if i like your music, i might still add your band.
"classical", showtunes, opera, chick rock, 80's and early 90's, techno (or whatever sub-genre, but DnB gets on my nerves after a while), ambient, soundtracks, i guess alternative but i don't really know what that means anymore, ska, hiphop, swing, rockabilly, funk, disco, new wave, the occasional country song, some hard/metal/whatever, hair bands are funny, power ballads from my youth, movie soundtracks, Richard Cheese, apparently i like industrial
Star Wars - original trilogy, duh. Victor/Victoria, Serenity, the Harry Potters, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Princess Bride, Pump Up The Volume, Brat Pack movies from back in the day, almost anything with John Cusack. actually, i like almost every movie i watch, so it's hard to pick favorites for me.
the shows i like the most usually end up cancelled. i'm a geek, so i've liked all the Treks. didn't get to see much of Voyager, though. or Enterprise. X-Files, both Stargates, Farscape, Firefly, The Tribe, both Battlestar Galacticas (but not Galactica 1980 - eep), new Doctor Who, The Venture Brothers, Inuyasha, [adult swim] in general, Lost, Invasion, Surface, Heroes, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Futurama, Family Guy, Trinity Blood, Eureka 7, Bleach. i'll probably think of more later. getting more into anime, lately.
anything by CJ Cherryh, Andre Norton, or Anne McCaffrey. i also like Larry Niven, Poul Anderson, Jerry Pournelle, Jean Lorrah, Jacqueline Litchenberg, Tanith Lee, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Roberta Gellis, Marion Chesney, Jean Auel, Mary Higgins Clark, the Harry Potter books, scifi and fantasy in general. Jacqueline Carrey's Kushiel series is rocking my world. Herman Hesse's Demian and Franz Kafka's The Hunger Artist changed my life.
people i look up to/admire/respect the most, for various reasons, in no particular order: my father (who i miss very much), my mother, my brother, my step-mother, Davey Beauchamp, Shana Alverson, Sydney Chalfa, my grandparents, both of my step-sisters, Janine Garner, Jewel Staite, Rebecca Lanning, Mary Beth Henke, Donna Havrilla, Ray Horne. i'll probably add more later. it's late, and i'm tired, and can't brain very well...
