In the magical world of Etherealm, the planes are ravaged by war as the ever-growing threat of a malicous Dark Lord spreads his shadow over the lands. Ages and Eras pass, and the war continues, and the Dark Lord Maugroth only grows stronger. Mostly with the aid of dark artifacts and weapons created by his Demon-Forgers. Among the many dark weapons was the dreaded Black Sword, forged in the Ash Lands of Amnessar by the demon Mordigyyl. But Mordigyyl was never able to present the blade to his master, for a band of wizards intercepted him and slew him. After experiencing a taste of its wickedness, one of the wizards took the Black Sword back to Amnessar and buried it deep within the earth. Its location became lost, and Maugroth searched for it for a long time. And he found its resting place, at last, thousands of years later. Now he has dispatched his Shadow Riders to retrieve it and bring it back to him. But he has paid little attention to a growing threat. A band of valiant heroes unite and set out to intercept these Shadow Riders, take the Black Sword, and destroy it. They will do everything in their power to complete this task... even if it means they lose their lives in the process.... Inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" and Peter Jackson's film-adaptations, this adventure is a mixture of The Lord of the Rings and Dungeons & Dragons.
