Myspace Comments | Myspace Graphics | Myspace SurveysI just graduated Dec.06 from North Carolina State University with a degree in Media Communications and a degree in Africana Studies. I was one of just 2 people as the first to graduate from NCSU with a degree in Africana studies. This is an accomplishment I am quite proud of.Right now I'm interning at The Pour House Music Hall downtown on Blount Street as the in house "hip-hop specialist." I basically research local acts and try to recruit them to perform on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights when we have free artist showcases. Artists can book a night and do a set all night. It's a great way to get local artists some publicity while making a little extra money on the side. So far I've booked like 6 shows between now and then that I have to help organize and promote. Hip-hop at The Pour House Music Hall on a regular basis is a fairly new concept. Mainly rock, bluegrass, blues, and jazz bands perform there. But the venue is nice with a 350 capacity so I'm looking to fill that place every show. Hit me up if you're interested in booking a show.Along with this internship I'm also operating my own promotions/artist management company.WBE's mission is to scope out and recruit local talent and help artists maximize their potential through successful promotions and marketing strategies. We help artists identify their career goals and develop plans for success. WBE specializes in networking, street team work and cross-promotions. It is WBE's goal to help put North Carolina on the map as a fertile stomping ground for grassroots hip-hop movements.Writer's Block Entertainment is trying to develop a symboitic relationship with local organizations and venues interested in keeping local hip-hop alive. Too many organizations try to compete rather than working together. Together we can all do some great things for Raleigh and beyond!
