I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Just waiting to go to the next cat show. Moustache rocker and cupboard stocker. Details later

My Interests

Lookin' good, feelin' good, skating my board, hangin' with the babes (my kids), listening to ghetto raps and old metal. Photography, but the digital is not my forte yet. Film cost went outta control. Drunken revelations and sobering philosophies. Or was it sobering revelations and drunken philosophies? Is there a difference? Playing bass guitar with folks who want to kick out the jams. Karaoke bars. I like to travel when I make the time.

I'd like to meet:

some rockers who like to rock. Some other parents who might have found themselves in a similar situation (all growed-up and with the children and what-not) who like to do stuff. And also you and your funny friends.

Music:

Lessee... Big Black, TV on the Radio, Van Halen, AC/DC, Ghostface Killah, De La Soul, Kool Keith, Wu-Tang Clan, Sea & Cake, Scientist, old Michael Jackson, Miles Davis, CCR, Fugazi, Breadwinner, Don Caballero, Karp, Unsane, Stevie Wonder, Neurosis, Slayer, Public Enemy, Judas Priest, Slayer, Bad Brains, Queen, Black Flag (early era), Milt Jackson, percussion, strings, silence (really loud silences), Misfits, Tragedy, Dungen, Dr. Alimantado, KRS-ONE and BDP, Andre Nickatina, Shellac, Roxy Music, Slayer, Tussle, Outkast, Gilberto Gil, Isis, Stooges, Velvet Underground, Too Short, King Tubby, Company Flow, Gang of Four, MF Doom, Gastr Del Sol, Augustus Pablo, Naked Raygun, Cliff Burton, Lee Perry, Tussle, Joe Henderson, George Michael, lcd soundsystem, Prince, Slayer, Notorious B.I.G., E-40, Eric Dolphy, M.I.A., My Bloody Valentine, Louis XIV, Can, Boards of Canada, Ol' Dirty, The Fucking Champs, EPMD, Chrome, Lester Young, Trans Am, Electric Light Orchestra and a couple others. I have a Right Said Fred 12", but who doesn't? I also want to say Wu-Tang again just because it's fun to say "Wu-Tang, Wu-Tang"! In "Coffee and Cigarettes", the RZA and the GZA are having coffee and BIll Murray is their waiter. They realize it's actually Bill Murray and they start talking to him stuff. And the best thing is, when they address him they always say his full name. And they say it in this really funny way -- like, Bill Muhhhrrey or maybe Muh-wrey. It's high entertainment. This is a good segue way for the movies down there cuz I loves me some Jim Jarmusch movies. Even Broken Flowers.

Movies:

Any Hayao Miyazaki, any Wong Kar-wai, any Akira Kurosawa, Old School, any Ang Lee (even the hulk!), Once upon a Time in the West, Once upon a Time in China, Crouching Tiger, Rififi, Godfather & Godfather 2, John Carpenter's Thing, All of Bruce Lee's movies except Game of Death, King of New York, Krush Groove, The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3, documentaries, mockumentaries (Spinal Tap, Fear of a Black Hat, Best in Show) and home movies. Vengeful fucking Muscles. And absolutely no others.

Television:

Will I be chastised for saying pro football? Because that's all really. No, wait, PBS is alright.

Books:

Lord of the Rings, Dan Simmons' Hyperion saga, them harry potter books, Vonnegut, Bukowski, ee cummings, any Satoshi Kitamura, any J. Otto Siebold, Dune (Dune through Children Of Dune), Siddartha, Demian. Also, Captain Underpants and Ricky Ricotta's Giant Robot because that's what I've been reading lately. Also "Lone Wolf and Cub" by Kazue Koike. The Nate The Great series pretty radical. James Marshall's books are all terrific. Some of my favorites are "The Cut-Ups" or "Fox in Love" or "Raisintoast".

Heroes:

I must give credit to all the ladies in my life: My mom, my wife Len, my girls Isobel, Ellea, and Aya, my sister Erin, my aunt Lisa, my cousin Lorna, my gram Pat, my aunt Robin and my great grandmothers Irene and Ethel (Dode). Of course, there are others, but these are the girls who raised me, grew up with me and walk ye olde path with me. Thanks ladies.
