Full Contact was formed in late 1998/early 1999. The original line-up was Justin, Moose, Alex, and Max. Alex and Max didn't work out and were replaced with Jessica and Cote. This is the "classic" line-up. We recorded our eight song demo in the summer of 1999 at Kevin Ratterman's In Transit studio. We did it in two days. One for music and one for vocals. Eventually Cote couldn't do the band anymore and was replaced with friend and fan Josh. We played lots of shows with tons of great local and out-of-town bands. We didn't "tour" extinsively but played shows in St. Louis and various spots in Ohio on a somewhat regular basis. We played the shit out of Louisville. Full Contact didn't come without controversy though. We were banned from playing one of the main show spots in Louisville, the BRYCC House. They felt our views were "too nationalist" and even accused us of racism. This, of course, was completely absurd as we had a blatant anti-racism song ("race riots") AND a Puerto Rican drummer at that! Oh well....we liked stirring up shit. Even though at the time all the members were straight edge we didn't really fit in with that particular scene in Louisville. Most of our fanbase was made up of the punk crowd and that was fine by us. I'll take a circle pit over that karate kid bullshit any day. Full Contact, unfortunately, didn't last too long. By 2001 it was over. Who really knows why. It just got too hard to get together, play, and practice. All I can say is that it was a really fun time in my life and I still think the music is relevant and sounds good. An EXTRA SPECIAL thanks goes out to Kill Your Idols, Pitboss 2K, Armbar, and Onslaught.
