In my second season with Houston, I averaged a team-high 24.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.26 steals in 47 games all were starts. I reached 20 points 32 times, which included a team-best 14 30-point games and a pair of 40-point performances... plus six double-doubles on the season... then I missed 34 games due to injury (11/5/05-11/10/05 with strained back; 11/20/05-11/26/05 with strained back; 1/10/06-1/18/06 with back spasms; 3/7/06 with sore back; 3/12/06-4/19/06 with back injury) and one game (NWT) due to a family emergency (2/24/06) … overall, the Rockets were 7-28 in games without me in 2005-06, averaging 93.1 points per game in the 47 outings... I played and averaged 86.1 in the 35 games I was out … originally suffered a strained back at practice (11/4/05) … notched 30 of his 35 points at New Jersey (11/12/05) in the second half, including 20 of Houston’s 29 points in the fourth quarter … grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds vs. Detroit (11/18/05) … recorded 34 points, including six 3-pointers at Seattle (12/15/05), which matched his most 3-pointers made as a member of the Rockets … scored on a driving layup with 0.3 seconds left on the clock to lift the Rockets to a 76-74 win at the L.A. Lakers (12/18/05) … recorded a season-high 11 assists vs. Toronto (12/21/05) … registered 37 points at Toronto (1/6/06), marking his fifth consecutive game in which I scored at least 30 points … joined Hakeem Olajuwon, Moses Malone and Elvin Hayes as the only players in Rockets history to have five straight 30-point games … I scored a season-high 43 points at Detroit (1/22/06) and followed with 41 points at Milwaukee (1/23/06), marking the first time a Rockets player reached 40 points in back-to-back nights since Moses Malone did it back in 1981-82 (43 on 2/26/82 vs. Golden State and 44 on 2/27/82 at Dallas) … recorded 37 points and 12 rebounds vs. Miami (1/29/06), including 15 (4-15 3FG) attempts from beyond the arc, which equaled the second most 3-point attempts in Rockets history … ranked fourth in the NBA in scoring average in the month of January with 31.5 points per game … scored the fourth most points in All-Star Game history with a game-high 36 points for the West in the 2006 NBA All-Star Game (2/19/06) … led all Western Conference forwards in votes (1,818,932) and was sixth overall in All-Star Balloting … also participated with NBA legend Clyde Drexler and Houston Comets All-Star Sheryl Swoopes in the RadioShack Shooting Stars Challenge on All-Star Saturday Night … received an injection (3/15/06) to relieve swelling in the area of his back where he fell during the game vs. Portland (3/5/06), missing the final 20 games of the season.
