About Me

Hey,Im WArrick De'Mon Dunn,Im the runningback for the Atlanta Falcons.I was drafted in 1997 picked 12th by the Buccs.I was born on January 5 1975 in Baton Rouge, LA. This is my 11th year in the NFL.I went to Flrodia State for clloege.Im 31 turning 32 and Im 5'9" and weight 180 pounds. These are my Career Highlights 248 Rushing Attempts in 2000, 1133 Rushing Yards in 2000,8 Rushing TDs in 2000, 68 Pass Receptions in 2001,589 Receiving Yards in 1999 18 Rushes for 72 Yards in 1997 Playoffs against Detroit, 8 Pass Receptions for 37 Yards in 2001 Playoffs against the Eagles. In 1993, I was a teenager living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The eldest of six children, I was a football star in high school. Football powerhouses such as Florida State and LSU recruited me, even though at 5' 8", 180 pounds I was considered too small to be a college runningback. I grew up never knowing my father. My mother had to juggle several jobs and double shifts as a police officer, so i cooked the meals, cleaned the house, and took care of the children. Then, just two days after celebrating my eighteenth birthday, my maturity and survival skills faced the ultimate challenge. My mother was escorting a grocery-store manager to a bank to make a deposit when two gunmen appeared and fired. She was dead before she could react, and I and my siblings were left without a parent. I identified my mother's body, and proceeded with the funeral, attended by thousands. At this time, I realized it was my obligation to care of my brothers and sisters. I knew I had to go to college and get my degree so I could support my family. Football had been my outlet, and now it would take me to even greater heights. I was awarded a football scholarship to Florida State University. While I attended school, friends and neighbors took care of my siblings, but I often made the five-hour drive home to check on them. At FSU, I made a name for myself. I provided fans with some of the most memorable moments in FSU football, but I never wanted attention. It was my job to be in college because I had to help my family. After four years, I graduated with a degree in information studies, but my work on the football field was incredible. I finished as the all-time rushing leader in FSU history with 3,959 yards, and scored 47 touchdowns, another school record. Pro scouts said I was too small to play in the NFL, but again I proved that i had a big heart. I was drafted in the first round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, which meant I had accomplished my goal, and could comfortably support my family with my multimillion-dollar contract. I starred in the NFL in my first season, I was chosen Offensive Rookie of the Year. I also made a tremendous mark off the field. Since 1997, I have ran a program called Homes for the Holidays. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, I pay the down payments on houses and completely furnishes them with everything from sofas to toothpaste. I did this out of the generosity of my heart in memory of my mother. To date he i have helped more than 25 mothers and 100 children into their own homes.I do not do this for publicity, but to see the joy on the women's faces. I want children to grow up in their own home, so I provide this remarkable gift.
