About Me
Roberto "lobbe" Procaccini was born in Rome, Italy, in 1971. He taught harmony and piano (classic and jazz) private studies as a kid, then at Università della Musica of Rome where he studied music from 1991 to 1995. In 1995 he moved to Boston, USA, where he attended the Berklee College of Music; he won two scholarships (Best and Arif Mardin Scholarship) and awarded a Diploma Summa Cum Laude in Contemporary Writing and Production in 1997. Back in Italy he took further studies in composition and orchestra conducting with Maestri Mauro Bacherini and Peppe Vessicchio.
He has been working since 1997 as arranger and programmer for Claudio Mattone's label Easy Records at first, and then as whatever (studio & live, collaborations..) for Otto Ohm, Spagna, Ron, Patty Pravo, Fabio Concato, Peppe Vessicchio, Tony Renis, Damian Draghici, Max Calò, Barbara Eramo, Ragazzi Italiani, Syria, Stefano Palatresi, Enrico Sognato, Andrea Cardillo and Luna among others. In the US he worked as producer and composer for EG Daily, Intermusic and Compression Records and in Spain as composer and arranger for the musical "Aladdin". In 2004 he joined Otto Ohm as bandmember.
Besides discography he has been working for theatre and TV as well; he wrote the music for theatre plays directed by Arnoldo Foà , with whom he performed during Sanremo Festival 2006, and Claudio Insegno; he also wrote the original score for "Sign Of Sound", an original multimedial project by Fabiana Lugli, joining artists such Gregoire Maret, Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny Group) and Fabio Morgera.
He just wrote the original score for "Sul lago dorato", a blockbuster theatre play with Arnoldo Foà and Erica Blanc now touring Italy, directed by Maurizio Panici. He wrote original music score for "A quattro mani" and "Memorie di Adriano" by Matteo Raffaelli, and for "The African Game" by Michele Massimo Tarantini. Along with his partner Gianluca Vaccaro he's been producing emerging talent The Niro: debut CD is now in stores and on iTunes (Universal).
