Sounds Like: Inchworm
Exemplifying the definition of DIY, inchWORM has expanded beyond all
expectations. Having extensively toured Canada, Iowa, Colorado, Kansas,
Wisconsin, Michigan, and Illinois, they have now set their sites on an East
Coast tour to support their critically acclaimed Porchlight EP, the follow up
to their debut album Outlying Areas.
Recorded in Jay Bennett's famed Pieholden Suite Sound, and mastered by
Dan Dietrich at Wall to Wall Recordings, inchWORM's new Porchlight EP captures
that "dangerous mixture of blues and psychedelia that made the late '60s
such a fertile time for rock 'n' roll" (F5, Wichita). After putting select tracks
from the new EP on MySpace.com, the number of inchWORM MySpace
friends boomed from 100 to 10,000, which boosted them to the number
one listened to Chicago indie act on MySpace. The response has been
overwhelmingly positive with such comments as: "It's that chill stuff with
a nice rockin' groove. I can tell you really feel what you play and you've
got a lot of heart."
