Hello to all discerning punk rock consumers looking for news on The Drunken Cholos The band containing the original three members of The Queers. First order of the day is that Tulu has moved back to NH from LA so the band is one major step closer to doing another album. I spoke to him last week for a while, going over plans for the band. He is starting to practice on drums again and ready to assume his rightly spot on the drum throne. Some people may not know this but Tulu is hands down the best Tommy Ramone style drummer in the world besides Tommy himself. Yes I know. You are foaming at the mouth and yelling out names of drummers you think are just as good as Tommy. Wrong. Tulu is the only one I have seen in 20 years of playing punk rock to play as good as Tommy and hell I’ve played with Marky Ramone and Dusty Watson!! I rest my case-Tulu is the greatest. Though this wonder man has been flying below the radar screen in the punk scene I assure you he is back and ready to play drums for us once again. I actually talked to him about playing drums for the next Euro tour for The Queers and hopefully it will happen. At any rate old Tulu is back in Cow Hampshire with Wimpy and we are looking to record soon. Wimpy and I have wanted to do another Cholos album and now it will happen!! Anyone into The Queers knows that this is nothing more nor less than The Queers but with the band still playing it is too confusing so we have a nom de plume. It is always interesting to get together with Wimpy and Tulu and this will be more of the same. Tulu has a great song called “Five Days On Crack†and of course Wimpy and I have our trusty notebooks full of song titles ready to go. See the way we work is to just have the song titles and sit down and write the songs in about 10 minutes. So we don’t dick around when we get together. As far as bass we don’t know who will be playing. I am hoping to get Bface to jump in but we will see. We have the album title all set but I can’t tell it to you right now but as soon as we record the album I will. Not sure on labels though we may just release it ourselves on Doheny Records. We may re-record the stuff from our Hopeless release so we can put it on the new album or do some vinyl. Hopeless owns the rights and I am not up for arguing with them so we will just re-record the stuff. Ok thanks to Louie for running this myspace page for us and we will be doing another newsletter soon. Joe Queer
