I'm back....now run.

About Me

Me in a condensed, easy to carry can. . .
I'm an oh-so-close-to-30 year old that comes from Knoxville, TN. I'm the product of the average American family consisting of 2 parents and 1 sibling. Above that my family grows exponentially quickly. Both of my parents are 1 piece of a 5 sibling "crew", and this led to many cousins, most of whom I'm pretty close to (some more than others).
The first house that was "ours" was a farm house in Union County, TN and was pretty small. It had a large porch, and when we moved in there was still an outhouse standing about 50 yards from the house (there was plumbing, this was just interesting). It was a 4-acre farm where we grew food several summers, my brother and I rode dirt bikes, and my parents raised us with all their being.
I spent summers at my Grandparents' home and followed my grandfather around as he explained the different fruit trees, flowers, and vegetables in his garden. I spent the afternoons of those same summers sitting at a 3-stool counter in my grandparents house as my grandmother fixed me grilled ham-n-cheese sandwiches. She spent Sundays at church, everyday taking care of "papa", and every moment we were there taking care of my brother and I.
My little brother is a Graphic Design artist who is now going to Nursing school. He is a truly good person and 1 of a very few I would absolutely step toe to toe with anyone for.
I graduated from UT (University of Tennessee, the real UT) in 2003 with a degree in Language and World Business. I immediately enlisted in the Navy, not going officer for now, and now use my skills in language. I will reenlist in January and drop my officer's package soon after.
I'm married to a woman that has traveled across the country with me twice, waited for me while I was a country away twice, and dealt with me being half a world away once. She watches out for me and keeps my head on straight. She is patient, kind, loving, and warm. She's my best friend and my love.
I'm funny. You can't tell it here, but I am. I'm "friendly" to so many people, but I only keep a few true friends.
I'm smart. I'll act a goof ball, I'll let you tell me what you think and not always respond, but my mind is always going. I can be sharp tongued, I can hurt your feelings, but I'll probably be sorry.
I don't have as much common sense as some of you reading this...but I probably have more than many.
I love community involvement, although I'm much less active right now than I have been over the last year or so. I believe in charities that do for others while enabling them to do for themselves. I love the Ronald McDonald House and Habitat for Humanity.
If I criticize, it's not because I'm being an ass hole. If I disagree, it's not because I'm being argumentative. If I don't laugh at your jokes, it's not because they're not funny. I'll be honest when it hurts because I care. I'll cheer you up when you're down because that's what I do. I'll always be "on call" for my friends, and I'll never say no, much to my wife's dismay.
This is a little bit of me...and by no means should give you the illusion you now know me. It would take more than a coffee shop conversation to know anyone. I guess, more than anything, this lets you know if you want to know more... Do you?
Take care,

My Interests

I used to hike my ass off. Now the wife and I are into camping. We haven't gotten to camp since we moved to GA from CA.... California was great for camping, if only you could get rid of the people. I love to travel... we've driven cross country twice, I've been up and down the west coast from L.A. to San Fran.... I studied in Mexico and Germany and really enjoyed myself in both.

I love languages... I speak a few, it's awesome.

I love being in the Navy. It was a great decision, and it's treated us really well so far.

I'd like to meet:

Music:

A little bit of everything...Literally. I can listen to Toby Keith, some OLD ass 2pac or Biggie, Fallout Boy, Avenged... I still love my 90's shit that I went to high school/college with like 3rd eye blind, offspring, eve 6, etc. I remember sitting up late at parties with all of us singing Garth, Willie, or David Allen Coe.

"you don't have to call me darlin, darlin...."

Movies:

My FAVORITE of all time is Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2... Yes, 1 is a little out there, but it is AWESOME, especially after you watch 2. Great story. These actually changed my mind on Quenton Tarantino... If you haven't seen them, or if you only watched 1, watch them both. Even my wife changed her mind.40 Year Old Virgin, Old School, Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, Spiderman, and (showing my nerdiness) Spiderman (can you believe that?). I love action movies. I love things that keep me on the edge.

Television:

I've been on a kick where I'm watching COPS a lot...I love watching dumb asses get tased. I think I'll go buy a taser, and walk around tasing people. I hope someone screams, "Don't Tase Me Bro!!!!"notice: The previously mentioned comment is a joke. I, in no way, intend to walk around tasing people... But I'm going to get an airsoft gun.

Books:

Just finished "Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff", I suggest you read it (well, if you don't get easily offended).Actually, I just finished "Marley and Me", great book, but kind of sad near the end.

Heroes:

My Grandparents, my Father, and my Mother....yeah, I know, it's corny, but you can get bent....

My Blog

Probably fake, but funny story...

Hell Explained by a Chemistry student...The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor share...
