The Murders were formed originally as the side project of Jacobb T. Sackett in early 2004. At the time, Jacobb was in another band, but that band eventually split, leaving Jacobb, his bass player wife, Ashley Sackett, and his mixer. Jacobb recorded The Murders' first 2 albums, "Such A Romantic" and "Sedusa", from 2004 to 2006. Calling the project The Murders, referring to the theory that every murder is different in some way and making that theory a parallel to his music, Jacobb set out to share this music with the world and eventually add members to make it a full band.
The Murders have played numerous shows around Idaho and having the honor of opening for Northwest punk favorites The Epoxies in June of '06.
The Murders bring back an old school/retro punk sound with tastes of new wave and indie rock. Their sound is completely their own and one of their trademarks is their very energetic and interesting stage show, complete with fog machines, giant red balloons, and uncalled for and unecessary between song banter dished out by singer Jacobb T. Sackett.
The Murders at this time are: Jacobb T. Sackett-Vocals, Guitar, Synthesizer Ashley Sackett-Bass, Synthesizer .
