Back in 1997, when all bands around here where painting their faces with corpse paint and tried to play their worst to follow the black metal stream, brothers Theodore and John formed Inthrall with brothers Theodore and Greg...Bay area thrash 80's style influenced by Metallica's Kill'Em All was Inthrall's first demo called "Death Obsession"...I feel nostalgic with the 8 track analog recording sessions and the collage cover!!While the others where spending hours in the mirror to look evil or dead or whatever, we where rehearsing,rehearsing and rehearsing and giving one hell of a rude Thrash!In 1998, brothers Theodore and Greg left the band to form (guess what...) a black metal band themselves :LOL: Still we didn't give it up and hired bassist Harry and continued as a trio.Our efforts got rewarded when Inthrall was the first "regional" band to participate with "The God you obey" in Metal Invader magazine's legendary Warzone III compilation.And yes, you've guessed right, we were THE ONLY thrash band in that CD.In 1999, guitarist George joined the band and we deceided to change the band name to Deepened Nail, and we released "Sign of the Times" demo. It was a two track demo, opening by a rather stupid intro, but after that, a thrashing hurricane ala Grip Inc's "Hostage to heaven" called "Predominate" delivered mayhem to your stereo.The second song, "Source", was the one to show the future sound of the band from now on... In 2000, when the face painters started to scream sky high and play power metal to follow another stream we tuned our guitars LOW and delivered heavy staff right into your face!This got us participating in Metal Invader's Warzone compilation again, just right after MORBID ANGEL!! We did a few gigs here and there, we showed how it should be done and thankfully the former black metalers and power metallers, now sound heavy as f*ck!!!!!
