Born and raised in the Bronx, from his very first breath Robert has fought for his life, being born 2 months premature with a determination to break through any obstacle standing before him, even death. Brought into a family heavily influenced by music, both Latin and American, Rob demonstrated at an early age a gift for performing, whether on stage, in the living room or walking through the streets much to his mother’s "joy".
Growing up with an over active imagination, often compelling him to entertain himself by creating his own world full of made up songs, stories and characters, the trend continued into his teens, when he was presented with the opportunity to change his life forever... the chance to audition for the acclaimed LaGuardia High School of Music & Art, and Performing Arts, better known as "The Fame School". It was there that Rob received training in Classical, Jazz, R&B and Contemporary music’s graduating in the class of 2000. Continuing that education with a brief 2 1/2 year stay at City College, deciding to venture out into the world determined to carve his own path.
Eventually leading him to start his own entertainment company in the Fall of 2004, Life Soul Musement (LSM) was born, dedicating itself to producing top-quality talent showcases for the unsigned community. Along the way that same winter, his path crossed that of a then 19 year old producer/rapper, little did they know that their lives would never be the same.
2005 marked the beginning of a new era, after linking up with a freshly turned 20 year old R. Blades and joining forces with Bassiks Entertainment the two embarked on a musical venture kicking it off with the powerful single "Inner City Struggle", taking from Marvin Gaye’s "Inner City Blues", the successful blend of sound led them to complete "The Real R&B" in the Spring of 2005. Taking their show to the open-mic circuit, they’ve had the privilege of performing at some of NYC’s top local music Clubs & Lounges along with the rest of the Bassiks family, consisting of Producer E Deuce & Rapper Joe Shyce; bringing their lyrical arson to such venues as, Remote Lounge, Bowery Poetry Club, The Triad, Club Pyramid, Coda, Ashford & Simpson’s Sugar Shack, and Orchard Beach to name a few.
The end of 2006 marked a milestone for Rob, completing his first independent debut solo album "The Awakening" **COMING SOON TO ITUNES!** A personal journey into his vast and complex mind and sensual lifestyle. From the first single "1 Night Stand", an homage to everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure; to the final remix of the R&B classic, "Don’t Give a Damn"; the quick paced and always "Sexxy Party", to the softer, more romantic and reserved "I’m Callin" and "Waiting".
A refined "Jack-of-all-trades" Robert has a broad range of experience in the industry ranging from Singer/Songwriter, to Actor, to Producer, to Engineer, A&R, Back-Up Dancer, Booking Agent, Event Coordinator, Stage Manager, Graphic Designer, Voice-Over Artist and more!
Continuing his quest to bring Latin Soul music to the foreground of the R&B world, Robert is currently in the studio recording his 2nd album titled, “The B-Sideâ€. His mission is clear, to prove that Latino Artists are capable of far more than just a Reggaeton Remix. With his drive and determination, Rob is looking forward to bringing his unique NuYoRican flava to the rest of the world, keeping it Sexy every step of the way!
