About Me

I grew up in northern Indiana as an adopted only child (ie, spoiled brat). I met my birth mother when I was 21. My birth parents were hippie kids who hitch-hiked to the Woodstock festival in 1969. I was conceived not too long after that which explains a lot about me...I'm in love with music, peace & love! I'm the most gentle, stable and balanced person you'll ever meet. I'm totally chill and peaceful. I'm quiet & reserved when in large groups and I am serious most of the time, even my sense of humor is quite dry. I have the ability to be really funny & witty but you'll only see that if I'm comfortable around you. I can appear standoffish but in reality I'm quite shy and it takes me time to warm up.
I moved to Las Vegas in 1999. I've worked in the beauty industry my entire life and I've been a nail technician for 15 years. My work is my passion and I can be a workaholic... Aside from doing nails, I'm also an Avon rep, a pet sitter and I do an occasional radio commercial voice over. I can play a mean tambourine too. My weakness is food (thus the extra bit of poundage). In my spare time, I work on endless projects around my condo, I go to tons of rock concerts and I drive as often as possible to Hollywood to see friends & go shopping. Much like Hemingway, I love mojitos and my favorite place is the east coast of Lake Michigan in the summertime. I'm always working to make myself a better person in every way and I like helping others along their journey as well. You don't have to be a Christian to be my friend but God is present in my every thought. I've been a Christian most of my life but I'm just as much a rocker as I am a holy roller.
Random facts: I don't dance. I don't do the Las Vegas club scene. I only go to places that have live music and you will usually find me standing around with a beer in one hand, nodding my head and occasionally throwing my fist in the air with the other(shouting "tequila!")....just so ya know. I'm the goofball in the car next to you singing at the top of my lungs--but at least I keep the windows rolled up (well, sometimes).
I've put the past and my old crazy ways far behind me, have grown up a lot and now I'm ready to be a committed and loyal muse for one and only one worthy rocker...

You'll soon be able to read a little bit about my past in the new (not yet released!) book by Pamela Des Barres:

Lyrics

My Interests

Some of my interests/favorite things:
God/Jesus/Spirit, sunflowers, turquoise jewelry, mosaic glass, sushi, sand dunes, rock music (I love guitars!), vintage clothes & cars, vinyl records, Hollywood, the beauty industry, mojitos, champagne, Hefeweizen & Blue Moon beer, dirty gin martinis, In-N-Out Burger, Atlantis, psychology, the theory of time travel, coffee, and boys with shag haircuts...
I'm the August 2003 Beautiful Creature of the Month.
Check out my interview here: Aug03BCOTM

I'd like to meet:

Looking for my equal to join forces with spiritually and financially so we both can have a better standard of living...someone who will cook dinner with me and sit in a hot tub with me with when we get home from work...who will try new restaurants and go on short road trips with me...who will not only talk about music with me all night but who also has enough depth & sensitivity to talk about abstract concepts and spirituality. Can you play a guitar? -Bonus. Challenge me! Inspire me! Teach me something I don't know!

Treat me with respect and I will go to the end of the earth for you. I'm looking for someone who is gentle, honest, beautiful, financially responsible, expressive & passionate, loves God and has integrity, ambition and a positive attitude! (Does that exist?)
I'd love to meet a guy who is confident enough & strong enough to take charge when necessary yet who will still allow me room to be myself without smothering me with jealousy...someone who knows how to be a man without being an insecure, possessive, controlling chauvinist. Chivalry is appreciated. I'm impressed by a man who shows confidence without arrogance and who will 'step up to the plate'!! You must have respect for my profession and not be too macho to visit my salon...but of course, if you're dating me you might already paint your nails black and have a wicked-cool hair cut.
What I'm attracted to looks-wise: Being in the salon industry and hanging in the rock scene my whole life, image and style are Extremely Important to me. I like guys with a look similar to Chris Robinson, Geddy Lee, Marilyn Manson, Butch Walker. (Could that mean thin guys with black hair & a long nose...hmmm??) And I'm also attracted to that earthy, 70s retro, indie rock look. Bottom line, if you don't have cool, shaggy, rock n roll hair, I probably won't look twice at ya.

As for the type of friends I'm looking for:
I'm independant and a loner and I seem to get along with other people who are the same way, especially other Virgo women. Needy, codependant, leacherous people frighten me. I don't have a lot of female friends because so many chicks are competitive, backstabbing users and I'm too honest, loyal and real to have that in my life. I hate competitive chicks...don't compete with me bitch because you WILL lose, one way or another. I'm usually not gossipy and I run away from girly drama crap as fast as possible...The curse of being a rock chick is that I always end up being "just one of the guys" but I've learned to be comfortable with that. I've also learned that if you don't allow yourself to expect too much from other people, you won't get let down and disappointed as often.

What I don't like:
I can't be around heavy smokers because cigarette smoke makes me really sick.
I have little tolerance for heavy drinking & heavy drug use--Grow The Fuck Up Already.
The 80s glam hairband look is a big turn-off--I lived it and now I've moved on, you should too.
Big muscles totally gross me out...Skinny boys rock!
I DON'T like female singers, hip hop, rap, death metal. I hate all violent, angry music. I can't stand all the bands that sound like 3 Doors Down, Hinder & Nickelback (ie white trash rock) and believe it or not, I dislike almost all punk/rockabilly music.
Politics bore me.
And if ya haven't figured it out yet~I ONLY date guys that ROCK!
Some of my favorites who have great style:

Music:

Just give me Classic Rock & Indie/Alternative Rock with lots of guitars. If it came from the 1970s, chances are that I like it.
THE BLACK CROWES, LED ZEPPELIN, COLLECTIVE SOUL, Keith Urban, BUTCH WALKER, The Darkness, The Rolling Stones, GRAM PARSONS, Alice In Chains, Rush, Pete Yorn, Jet, Motochrist, Louis XIV, Coheed & Cambria, The Strokes, OKGo, Audioslave, The Murderdolls, Magna-Fi, The Goo Goo Dolls, Backyard Babies, Beautiful Creatures, Fountains of Wayne, New York Dolls, Faster Pussycat, Weezer, Ace Frehley, Motley Crue, Dokken, Sinisstar, Guns N Roses, Izzy Stradlin, RHCP, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Stryper, Tesla, Cinderella, LA Guns, Cheap Trick, old Def Leppard, old Metallica, Whitesnake, Ozzy with Rhoads, Marilyn Manson, The Supersuckers, The Thieves, The Shys, Wolfmother, WHITESTARR, THE LASHES, DIAMOND NIGHTS, THE VACATION

Movies:

I'm mostly into comedies, and I especially love Adam Sandler, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers, Robin Williams. I'll watch anything with Keanu Reeves, Nicholas Cage, Owen Wilson, Ashton Kutcher or George Clooney. I dig vampire stuff but I totally hate horror movies.
Some of my favorites: The Holiday, City of Angels, This is Spinal Tap, The Wedding Singer, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Point Break, Meet Joe Black, They Live, A Walk in the Clouds, Under The Tuscan Sun, Almost Famous, Wayne's World, Little Nicky, Pulp Fiction, Empire Records, Nightmare Before Christmas...

Television:

My TV usually stays on Comedy Central. The Daily Show (Jon Stewart is a genius!), Mind of Mencia, Seinfeld, Friends, What About Brian, Monty Python, 1970s sit-coms, anything funny...

Books:

The Bible (Having trouble with life? Read the instruction manual. seriously.)
I'm With the Band, Straight Whisky, Hammer of the Gods, Rolling Stone Mag, The Rock Snob's Dictionary, The Darkness Permission To Rock, The Dirt, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, The Blessing of Favor, Rock Bottom, Grievous Angel

Heroes:

Jesus, grandpa K, my birth mother Linda, Jack Kevorkian & Miss Pamela
